So if I'm Saracens this is the perfect opportunity to get right back into the competition. They're almost unanimously if not completely expected to lose. And they know they can do much better. They can improve heaps defensively, Clermont are a great attacking side sure but they missed 38 tackles at home last Monday - THIRTY EEEEEEIIIGHT !!!! They can count on a much better performance and all their guys need really is a more focused effort, lots of those tackle attempts were weak, not their best.

They need to simplify their attacking game: last Monday they started off attacking Clermont up front and hurt them badly, on the first few movements they were winning the gain line with every single initiative, and their only try during the game's prime time was off a maul, even got Clermont down to 7 forwards. Clermont are NOT the biggest pack in France and being somewhat thin up front has been their weakness over the years: play more conservatively, they dropped 23 balls at Allianz in a stubborn attempt to get momentum and use the expansive risky tactic. Build the phases gradually, make the hard yards and push a smaller Clermont to the limit physically then use those smooth setplays at the end to produce depth and free up those set up runners.

Stade Marcel Michelin for a big game is on my bucket list. I may have to accept waiting for Edinburgh to play there is may not be the best idea.
