My Sharona - proper, simple, catchy riff, goes all the way through the song - played on bass, guitar and drums. :thumbup:

He dominates the ‘greatest bass lines’ thread.
Well he shouldn't
I know, Mr Motown. Those dudes would really dominate but Entwhistle was still a beast.

Nope... Dale Crover played bass on that track.

Lori didn't actually play on the album despite being credited.

"This album is mostly just me and Dale Crover. Either I played bass or he did on almost all of it regardless of what the credits say…" - Buzzo.
:thumbup: Haven’t you told me that before on here?

I am in no way knocking The Ox BTW. Scott La Faro, bass player with the Bill Evans Trio deserves a shout out.

It turns out I have... :lol:

Although I originally attributed the bass to Buzzo, when it's actually Dale for that one.

In a way, way, way too much of an oversimplification the easiest way to differentiate the two is this:

Riff = rythym guitar
Lick = lead guitar.

Of course the crossover of the techniques used for each makes that differentiation completely redundant.

I trust this clears up the confusion.

So "Bad Moon Rising" is a riff and "Layla" electric is a lick.
