Terenure started very well and had much the better of the opening quarter. Conversely Michaels were a bit scrappy in terms of handling and were stuck in their own half for that period

Once Michaels got the equalising try off a lineout maul, they began to slowly squeeze the life out of Terenure from that point onwards.

Scott Penny chased a penno which rebounded back off the post for him to claim it over his head and dot down

Chris Cosgrave ran in another try soon after and that was all she wrote.....

The Michaels back 5 of the pack are pretty damn good - Penny and Baird being the pick of them

Ref was very busy with the whistle I thought .... over relatively minor infringements, with Michaels largely on the receiving end. Then there was what looked a fairly dangerous tackle toward the end (which took the Michaels player well beyond the horizontal and brought him down on his head/neck) that probably should have seen yellow. I think there was only a minute or two left and the tackle was more down to poor technique than any malice.

Like Belvo yesterday, plenty to work on for Michaels, but its about getting through the tie I suppose

My gut says Inst might struggle with Ballyclare this round. But then the health of my gut is highly questionable.

Video of Terneure and Michael's fans "interacting" doing the rounds.... Doesn't look like there's anything too significant happening in it but is that a thing in schools rugby now?

We broke a corner of Donnybrook in my day by jumping around too vigorously after a try.

Pres had a big scrap at the Dart station with I think St Paul's in the early 90's. Brick went through the train window from what I recall. Big schmozzle either way.

Blackrock vs Castleknock today. Can only see one winner, although it should be much closer than last game between the schools in the cup.

reading about it it seems scoreline was unfair on knock..

standout player was adam corcoran, castleknock openside.

rock had too much depth especially in the pack

That's always been the case. Just didn't have social media to publicise it before.

All over in Tarf.

Clongowes 29 KH 21

To be honest even flatters Clongowes. KH played much the better rugby and missed two very kickable penalties and Clongowes were certainly handed two soft tries against run of play

KH did everything to avoid a much bigger Clongowes pack. Running from own line, different strike moves. Clongowes kept it very simple. Lots of one off stuff and using their 12 (who’s good to be fair)

KH 10 prob best player on pitch bar missed kicks, their 4,7,8 12 and wingers all played really well

Clongowes best player easily their 1. Had a strong game. 2,3,4 and 12 pick of rest.

But wouldn’t see Clongowes doing much off basis of this.

Thanks, interesting clongowes kept it so simple, I do know there 10 is a 4th year. But they have good talent outside him with two potential ireland u18 player at 12 and 14( i think?)

Thanks again.

watched the 1st half of fintans gerards last night thought baxter was a clear standout, while Foley was very classy whenever he got the ball.

standard not as good as clongowes fintans last year but no surprise there.
