You don't know shit about me. I lived 5 to a room, I graduated out of one of the worst Junior HS in America and the 4th worst HS in NYC. I know what it is like to fear be deported. You think it wasn't hard for me to be in college away from home with a dad with bad knees and feet standing 8-10 hours a day so I could go to college. I speak for the point of view of a person who had to carve out something, who never got the right or opportunity to complain because I have cousins in Ghana that would jump at the chance. She is polarising because the left likes to divide themselves into smaller slivers of true believers and because she didnt' support Bernie in 2016 but rather Hillary, her name is mud to lots of progressives. I am a big fan of hers and if you listen to here talk about economics and policy, it is everything all these rubes that demand that a person that rep them be someone they want to drink with are saying. Her problem is she is a woman and a well educated one at that, so that is a big no-no to these people. They want a small town guy who know his way around a Chevy and drinks Bud!!
Warren isn't well liked because what the left doesn't need is another rich white lefty taking down to the poor people telling how they are supposed to feel and act. It's not about having a beer. I notice even the New York Times can't take to her.
Did you know Bernie's economic plan was based on 4% yearly growth for 5 years, when we had only had 4% growth for two years on two separate occasions ever in the history of the country. This is what I mean, people want to celebrate him but not look at his policies.eldanielfire wrote:Deadtigers wrote:It shouldn't. I feel two minds about this. She didn't believe in Bernie's free unicorns, She was the anti-christ, she's this, she's that. Now she is not running for anything else so why can't she drop bombs and be allowed to be selfish. I hope this doesn't impact Conor Lamb.
What rubbish. She is a foul shitty creature and 98 out of America's top 100 papers supported her over Trump. Just read what the wikileaks stuff show her to be. Nasty, ruthless, manipulative who would just be adding to the war Machine. Stop talking rubbish. The wikileaks stuff alone show what a vile vindictive and evil women she is. Also how useless she is.
Also Bernie's free unicorns argument is a joke, this past year they have just given $160 billion more to the military machines. The USA is a country that has enemies or fear of invasion at home. But Bernie Sanders education policies would cost $65 billion and people claim he's giving away money that the country doesn't have FFS!
Well done you, now stop speaking down to people like a snobby middle class liberal and trying to white wash who Hilary Clinton is given the massive number of horrible facts about her character like what snobby middle class liberals did for most of 2016.Deadtigers wrote:You don't know shit about me. My point about Hillary is not that she is an angel but that she was no different to several male pols but somehow she was viewed as a much more horrible person.
She's viewed as horrible person because she is. So were multiple republlcian candidates. Rig primaries!?! This is the over the top bullshit I am talking about. I love how people like you whitewash the fact that Bernie ran a shit campaign. Shit job getting his message to black people? Nope that was Hillary's fault somehow. Shit job getting his message of social justice out? Nope that was Hillary too. The fact that the debate schedule was out for year in advance and so too the primary schedule was also her fault. Is he responsible for anything. Oh that is right rigging, i.e. getting the support of long time Dems and DNC employees over an interloper that cheated then waged war against the DNC. Bernie broke a f**king gentleman's agreement on tech database use and when he was found out to do so and fined, he f**king cried unfair and got fools like you all in his corner because, Your Messiah couldn't cheat it had to be the evil DNC. It is amazing!! You talk about whitewash and people like you act like Bernie was just some little old lady robbed and beaten up at gunpoint by mean old Hillary.eldanielfire wrote:No angle? And using George W Bush as an example of unfair Clinton criticism is f**king retarded! Did you not see how much shit he got constantly during his regin? How hated he is over Iraq? How evil he and Dick Cheney are generally regarded as? The massive protests? The numerous documentaries against him? FFS the idea Clinton is hated more than Bush at all is f**king ridiculous, let alone this idea she's a women is the problem with her image. Well done for re-writing history.

White snobby middle class people were all in on Bernie, not Hillary. Those were the people demanding free college. Explain how Canda can't accomplish free college but the USA was suppose. They didn't talk about free vocational training did they. They demand 15 an hour and when Hillary said lets do like "my stat" NY and make it 12.50 in smaller areas and 15 in big cities, she was vilified. I can bring up the debate clip and articles if you like.
I get it, you think she deserves all the shit she got. Which is fine, but then don't expect me to coddle the people that threw the shit at her. They deserve the shit they get too. They chose hate over decency because it wasn't gonna touch them. That goes for Bernie Bros and Trumpkins.

The fact she is a woman is a huge problem with her image. She could never be like the men. Her opponent was an actual rapist but she was viewed as worse to some people because she didn't divorce her husband who was an accused molester. And yet now every f**king body feels sorry for Melania. GTFO. You are full of shit.
Spoken like a person who has never felt the shifty side of the stick. Quit with this SJW anti-language bollocks. It's people who say crap like "don't normalise this" who are pushing people out the mainstream into extreme groups rather then engage with them. Demonising and de-humanising these people is part of the reason why they get pushed out of the mainstream anyway and it's even valid to point out among nazi's have a spectrum of characters and behaviours and even beliefs among them and that many live quiet none violent lives. Start treating readers like they are entirely retarded. We've had racists among us for centuries and still we live in times today where it's never been better for a minority. A NYT piece that observes one is not going to change that just like countless studies of murders, killers etc does not normalise killing.
And don't start playing Bernie in the same category as Trump. It was Hilary's camp who demonised him. As for free college, I just pointed out congress has given the military 160 billion more each year, 3 times the cost of free college. And don't act like free college is some alien impossible concept, most western European countries manage it.
This is how I know you are a full of shit Bernie bro. The nuclear narrative has be dismissed by several papers. Shewould have had to convince 7 agencies include 2 that are apolitical yet she somehow strongarmed people.eldanielfire wrote:Deadtigers wrote:

f**king hell, you white wash the Clinton-DNC arrangement, an arrangement so toxic now they are re-writing the rules, and dare claim somebody else is bullshitting is rather funny! . The way she has gone round afterwards blaming everybody else for it only show what a pathetic human she is women she is.
Hilary being a woman had nothing to do with her lose. She lost because she was always unpopular even when Bill was president, literally was caught saying how her public beliefs are her private beliefs, thousands of dodgy emails and her blatant attempts to bury them by destroying servers, the 145 million given to the Clinton foundation after Hilary approved a Uranium deal for them and other such cosy arrangements of the Clinton foundation, her oversight of the fudge-ups of Libya, Syria her hawkish pro-Iraq war and hawkish history in general. Hilary has a nasty, hypocritical history. People could see that, the campaign tried to show her as somebody she isn't an lost of people saw right through it.
Face it Hilary stunk, the idea a country who just twice voted for a black man wouldn't vote for a women is ridiculous. The fact her whole campaign plan was to try and get the media to focus on and hope for a republican who was even less appealing than her showed this. She was a bad nomination from the start and still had 98 of the top 100 papers on her side and every station bar Fox News. Stop trying to whitewash her character for a false narrative. Hilary did that herself in her book where everyone else was to blame but her.

We don't need to hear out racists and xenophobes. You don't have to listen to them. In the NYT you can just turn the page. Yep and I liked the part after that where he talked about the Democrats being the party of his grandfather and FDR. That is something that resonates with people across Western PA and the whole region. If you go back a generation or two in many families, pretty much everyone was a democrat. I think two generations ago, every single person in my own family were democrats. This is where the Dems need to make up ground, where people are receptive to their message (Medicare, Social Security) but have felt left behind by the national Democratic Party policies of last 20 years.Smee wrote:Liked Connor Lambs victory speech there, my kind of Democrat and it was encouraging to hear him attribute his success to organized labor. The irony here you fail to understand is that the nazi party back in Germany in the old days gained power and sympathy because they where attempted by the establishment to be forced into public silence. It's how their support grew. Well done on supporting the same tactics that allowed the most nortorious racist party in history to flourish.
BTW a few years ago the BNP (racist party in the UK) got a bit popular (a bit), they were allowed on TV and guess what? We didn't have swarms of idiots join them and hate on minorities, it soon collapsed their support because when they were subject to public debate the public saw them for what they were as they were ripped apart.

I detest UKIP, but the idea they are a racist party like the BNP is ridiculous. Obviously being the most far right party in the UK they will attract the loons.2) Or you could embolden hate like Trump has done leading to the murder of innocent people. But yet again ignore what is happening on the ground for your theories professor. Like the dreamer you are you believe that people will just reject bad ideas and hate speech. Yet we live in a world of brietbart, Trump, Brexit and Fox News because people gravitated to hate speech and blaming others. In practice it has only emboldened these people. and BNP seem to be replaced by UKIP and Farage. Unless you contend racism and xenophoia played no role in Brexit.

In practice it has only emboldened these people. and BNP seem to be replaced by UKIP and Farage. Unless you contend racism and xenophoia played no role in Brexit.
As for the rest, any proof any of them will stop existing if you no platform them and constantly virtue signaling them? As I said it happened in 1920's Germany. Well done on adopting those failure of tactics, it's like you are desperate to ensure a future where you can continue victimhood.
regardless you have multiple times git this wrong. I never called you middle class like you claimed. You are wrong. Acceot it and stop trying to wtist it into some bullshit "I was right all alog anyway..." narrative. You were wrong. Next time read.Deadtigers wrote:
1) Oh yeah that's right somebody that holds my views sounds middle class to you instead of someone who has lived through real struggle and has little time for people with oppression fantasies. interesting that your mind went to a middle class person, guess that is the box you place people in.
Well when oppose free speech lots can go wrong. The Nazi party assuming power being one of the historical fudge-ups of that.2) The 1920s in the US allowed lynchings and sanctioned inhumane treatment of black people until people decide those were repugnant ideas that didn't deserve the light of day. But yeah give those ideas the kind of normalization they crave, what could possibly go wrong. let's ask the 5 dead black and brown men at the hands of Emboldened racists, what is the worst that can happen. or the youn woman killed at Charlottesville or maybe her mother who had to keep her funeral and burial place a secret so these new aged oppressed naazis wouldn't desecrate her grave.

I think the Democrats are done with organized labor. It's in reality hard to be pro-mass immigration and also pro-organized labor because the immigrants end up being the scabs while not following all the rules everyone else is required to. Those are two policy points that tend to clash or compete in actual practice, and the Obama administration based on actions did not give a shit about organized labor. The national heads of the unions said as much.Deadtigers wrote:However beyond all that there is young energy and old progressives energy in the party demanding that rather than move to the middle ground left unoccupied by the move further right. What are you talking about, why can't they do it? The progressive cry babies are the ones telling them to support leftist working class candidates.Deadtigers wrote:The DNC can't do it publicly. People have to understand Bernie's popularity in that part of the country.
Getting rid of Ryan would be incredible
Ryan sold his soul and is gonna pay for it. But unseating a sitting house speaker is a very rare and almost impossible task so best of luck to him.
Good post The obvious, but not easy, solution would seem to be getting migrants into unions?Flyin Ryan wrote:flaggETERNAL wrote:Reckon Lamb could go very, very far from what little I've read about him. Seems to tick all the boxes except maybe possible his Catholicism.
Traditional Democratic Party constituency. (not to mention it's maybe 90% of all Latinos)

(in short, immigration vs. organized labor, the 2019 and 2020 Democratic Party debates on policy in preparation for the primaries are going to be the first real ironing out on some issues since the 2008 Hillary vs. Obama primary; Sanders was too one-note and wasn't even a Democrat)
Look at your state Deadtigers. The fusionist Working Families Party is organized by the unions. It's been taken over by Sanders voters and come the last governor election they hated Cuomo, and the WFP unions are "no, we fund this party, you must support Cuomo".
I feel bad for organized labor in a sense, because they really have no one to vote for. My city has had a Democratic mayor since January 1st, 2000. The city council got rid of collective bargaining in the past few years, and all the people that follow local politics are pretty much in agreement the mayor while paying lip service to labor privately doesn't really mind that it ended, because he can take the money savings and spend it on other administration priorities.
The DNC is hated by a bunch of people that don't know what it does. The Primary is in August for Wisco and the DNC can't seem to favor one candidate, admittedly they have done some other silly stuff in other states, but in essence they god forbid can't tip the scales so they are hanging back and providing limited support to all and letting political figures that want to back people do it. On the flip side after Georgia and Ossoff, the DNC can't be too supportive of a dem candidate, least it motivate the GOP vote to get out and stop the Dems from ruining America. So they don't seem to be active but they are, they are just more cautious and subtle about it.Dumbledore wrote:What are you talking about, why can't they do it?
