I'll kick this off with Days Of Thunder.
Not quite in Top Gun's league but still awesome
Great soundtrack as well.

Can't remember the last time I watched a classic (I presume you are talking about a film that is 20+ years old and is now revered?).

Not quite in the spirit of the thread but I've never seen Grease nor do I have any desire to.

People, usually women, are always astounded by this for some reason

Haven't seen titanic either.

Does this count as a classic but I've only seen it recently and watched it twice since:

It's hilarious and reminds me of my place of work.

I'd classify it more as a movie everyone loves but you'd never bothered to watch it.

Love Actually.

Not a bad movie, despite Hugh Grant effectively playing the same character in every movie he's in.

I did watch Breakfast at Tiffany's recently for some unknown reason. Utter garbage.

Mickey Rooney was amazing as the japanese guy though. Could barely tell the difference...

+1,000,000

I was horrified to hear that the IT crew in my new job hadn't seen it. My TPS report requests were falling on deaf ears :frown:

For me, as stone cold Sci fi Guy, I couldn't believe I hadn't watched this until recently;

Grease is a fun movie, it's worth watching, but yeah no point watching Titanic. I haven't seen Avatar, mainly because I missed the 3D sessions so thought it a waste to watch in 2D. Cameron is going to release it again before the new ones so I'll get to see it then.

Not to go all Kid A, Floppykid (and Rugga Bugga ;) ) but do the first two movies in this thread even come close to being classics.

Further proof - if such were needed - that you are a thoroughly sound chap. Throw Top Gun into the mix and you have the trifecta.*

*Or one of them, at any rate. Doubtless there are other much-loved piccies I've never watched but I can't be arsed thinking about it right now.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Not bad. A few gratuitous boob shots. Judge Reinhold.

A few gratuitous boob shots is underselling it a bit when it includes one of the most famous (and bestest) boob shot scenes in movie history.

Not clicking that link, if it’s Hugh grant being a bumbling idiot you should be ashamed of yourself.

Don’t believe you, I’ve been tricked before, normally involves closing my eyes and putting out my hand though.

Oh right, the one Stevus has posted. Yes, solid. Jennifer Jason Leigh had one as well.

Nice, but one of the most famous boob shot scenes in movie history? That is a a bit surprising.

I know it's popular for me to admit it on PR, but I liked Titanic. I don't understand all the hate it receives.

Grease, Titanic etc great movies. But you need to have a certain mindset when watching movies. You can be cynical and narrow-minded otherwise what's the point of watching it in the first place.

I used to live near a Video shop which had a greatest movies section and I pretty much watched it all over a couple of years. All different and I was openminded and tried to understand why each movie was great. You enjoy it more.
