Anyone got thoughts on the Italy Red card? One of the nastier tip tackles I've seen. Rather lucky he tipped him too much!

That Welsh loosehead is the size of a house. England doing well to run round these Welsh behemoths.

Credit to Wales - they are under immense pressure but they're scrambling well and sticking at it. Floodgates could have really opened by now.

Ireland 38-Italy 34.

Italy in 14 from the 9th minute, deserved red card.

This azzurrini know what rugby is.
It was a great great 2nd half for us. Spectacular

England need to be more canny here - running directly into this beefy Welsh side is leading to too many turnovers.

Yep - they look better when they give it some some width - Wales are very narrow in defence.

Have to agree - that was a good example. Welsh forward smashes through two players then drops the ball for no reason. This Welsh side don't offer much outside of size.

Doesn't look like a vintage England side either.

Lovely by Wales - batter their way over the gainline then a pinpoint kick for the winger.

Fra got a bit silly in parts there. The one concern was the lineout: a fistful lost on own ball and showed a defensive weakness on Sco's rolling maul.

Still, for a bunch of kids, that was some performance. We can look fwd to T14 and Fre coaches destroying them in the next 5 years.

Completely agree, something is rotten in the T14. Almost every years we have our kids doing very well for the 6N and not too bad for RWC , they go to pro and then boom ...gone .

That was well scored - Wales waded through the maul to sack the carrier but the next guy carried with great acceleration and caught them napping.

Not sure either camp will take much from that game. Reasonably solid from England but didn't make the most of the hard yards the forwards made.

And, no really outstanding players from either side. Looking to the future it's better to have a few real talents coming through, than a team of decentish players - even if you aren't always winning.

Well that was pretty shit from a LI pov. 3 injuries, with Loader before the match and Parton/Williams during.

Decent result overall, even if it was a bit scrappy.

Edit - Few players clearing the way for that last Hinkley try. Fortunate that it didn't go to the TMO

I agree. Lucky for the player tipped that he did a 270 degree flip. Could have saved him injury.

Went along to the Ireland game. Italy the better backs overall, they were unlucky to lose considering they went down to 14 pretty early. The Italian 13, 10 and 9 were handy. Decent heft in their pack. Did well to come back from 21 pts down. I didn’t see any real top stand out players in the Ireland team.

looks that way. Thought Wales were better than the score suggests, but I guess the win last week was put into perspective by the French.

Used to Scotland losing at this level, but this year seems poor even for us.

We’ve had a competitive team for the last couple of years (for once) - I think they all got too old and this lot are completely raw.

We've at least 4 outstanding players not involved, 2with senior caps already.
