Following on from the Carillion collapse a couple of weeks ago, are we going to see the same thing happen to Capita?
CAPITA ISSUE PROFIT WARNING
Within 10 hours of its statement to the City, Capita’s stock market value had fallen to £1.2bn, with a £381m pension deficit and debts predicted to hit £1.15bn by the end of the year.

fwiw this was also another company I looked at investing a few k in - right now I can't recall why I wanted to stay away and plump for Carillion instead. Either way, it does seem that the whole PFI / tendering / doing stuff for the govt, is a race to the bottom, and many of the tender winners do so purely by offering a price so low it can't actually make money from it.
Which also brings into question govt procurement processes, and why not enough due diligence is done on the awards process. Any fool can sell a product or service if the price is low enough, and any fool can buy cheaply and not worry about if the seller can even supply it. Even for a confirmed Righty such as me, its hard to think that once you look at all the costs of these firms going bust, it wouldn't just be easier and cheaper for the govt build the roads themselves (or whatever).
