Tough pitch.....but awful batting and great bowling.

Williamson really needs to stand down from this format. It's just not his style.

True but only half of this Aussie team played in that series where they got thrashed and anyway that was 50 overs not 20

Yep. You don't have time to play yourself in. He plays limited overs like its a test match.

I wouldn't write him off yet, he's been badly out of form recently, but his career T20 numbers (Ave: 33, SR: 122) are more than acceptable. Form is temporary class permanent etc. He does need someone going at the other end while he's getting in, which hasn't happened the last few games unfortunately.

CDG & Bruce need to swap in the order too. 6 is way too low for de Grandhomme in this format. Give him as many balls as possible.

Anyway, long live this rain.

There were two statements and at least one of them is wrong.

So this has started has it. It's funny, despite being NZ's highest ranked format, I think this is clearly our worst team.

Folk are saying that the pitch is 'stickier' than first thought. Maybe it's a par score?

What's the craic between Maxwell and Smith (rumoured)? Smith's basically a freak who's definitely on the spectrum. Maxwell seems alright aside from having appointed himself the Big Show. Would definitely take Maxwell over Smith in limited overs if it's true that they can't occupy the same changing room.

No idea really, but Smith needs to sort it out with him. Maxwell should be picked in both our ODI and T20 sides without a doubt.

Smith dropped him and then called Maxwell out over the way he was training and the way he was applying himself in recent times. I think he said something like 'cut out the funky stuff' and then mentioned his low average.

Maxwell threw his toys a bit but then started coming into form.

I don't think there is any beef but perhaps Smith was wrong to say those things in the public media.

Goes back to the series in India as Maxwell was dropped for the last two games for Handscomb. He wasn't batting well in ODI for sometime. That should have been explained why he wasn't selected.

Maxwell has been told by the selectors that his maturity is in question and needs to focus on the game before himself.

If anyone is interested in some cricket outside the Tri-Series and India v SA.

Try some ice cricket from the St Moritz tournament.

Some big names playing on a frozen lake.

First game was a victory for the Royals which seems to be Pakistan, NZ, SA and English team against the Diamonds which seem to be Indian, Aussie and Sri Lankan side.

Nicely surprised to see T20 underdogs Australia booking their spot in the Twenty20 tri-series final. Warner has been solid on the Captain front but sh!thouse with the bat. Glad to see Ponting in the coaching mix as well as there is a long way to go for this side to improve before the next world cup, but hiring him is a step in the right direction.

and to score more runs. Trevor Hohns pointed out that he hadn't been scoring enough runs over a long period of time.
