France defended very well against Ireland - if they do the same against Scotland (much as Wales did), they should have enough to win. Scotland will not hold on to the ball as well as Ireland did - so France will get more chances.

dargotronV.1, man, well done congratulations !! See now we've got a platform to discuss an exciting Round 2 match on, isn't this nice ? I commend you on it, and really hope it hasn't taken too much effort from you !

Locker room atmosphere after such a ridiculously tough defeat against Ireland put this hungry exuberant France group right into the mud again, added all the injuries on the day, felt more like a hospital scene looking at the footage.. :?
I'm sorry Scots but France would reaaaaaaally benefit, more than they know from winning this. Please, just, roll over this once. You already had the nice prestigious blowout type win a couple years ago, let this be about two hungry teams fighting it out desperate for a win and after a brutal confrontation with lots of developments the away team snatches the victory from the jaws of, uhm, Hamish Watson.

So the most probable scenario for either side winning as far as I'm concerned...

- France wins: smother Scotland the way they did Ireland and the way Wales did Scotland in Round 1. Make Scotland have to look for a plan B, which they don't have, and your chances of winning are exponentially risen. France will surely get more possession than 8% or wtvr the hell it was in game 1 (okay, 32%) and they have enough talent and athleticism, not to mention a much bigger pack on paper that their offense could take care of itself on a good day (remotely).

- Scotland wins: France's brilliant defense in game 1 was merely exuberance at the prospect of a bright new start and a result of a slowed down tempo due to rainy conditions. Scotland early on do take France by storm with superior speed and collective execution, do establish a platform for their runners and France chase the game from there and never get over the hump and look totally shapeless in attack. Their size accounts for nothing, they're down in the gutter again mentally and desperately need a proper coach as Vern Cotter magically appears on the sideline at the 60th minute and coaches France to a 15pt victory no wait this is the Scotland wins scenario.

I'm not sure Scotland will have it so easy.

French are going to biff and bosh all the live long day. Peculiar that my Scottish chums are taking a victory for granted again this week?

I don't think anybody with half a brain is taking anything for granted. A 50-50 game I think.

Quite an inexperienced French team that. Guirado a great player though, very adept at falling on the wrong side and waving the arms about.

So wouldn't that make you someone with half a brain, then ? :P
Yeah 50-50 for me as well. Too difficult to predict. You have to look at how France shut Ireland down defensively, how they have a big pack, the two cryptonites for this Scotland side. But then you have to look at Scotland being better coached and tons more cohesive and confident (esp at home) as a team. You have to tip Scotland in MF, eager for redemption, over such an inexperienced brand new Fr side though. Scotland by 4.

P.S.: very sad Brunel won't play Macalou and Danty...

Kickfest announced for France: Beauxis and Palis together...
France backrow is all defensive, nothing to hope in attack.
Depends on the weather conditions, but I heard about cold, wet and windy, so I think France could sneak it if they don't conceed an early try (or two..)

I'm sure it was his fault.

He looked reasonably sharp when he came on last week. The French defence looked very solid so we will benefit from a cooler head at the base.

Clermont is rather shaky and lack cohesion with the Injury trouble they have I would not blame a single player.

I think Scotland are better than France and Townsend can figure out a way through them.

The French disgraced themselves with that HIA stuff last week and still lost so I can't imagine there's the pride in them right now to put up the fight they did against Ireland. :)

Better coached, yes certainly. But it remains to be seen how good Townsend really is. If he loses this match, against a rookie France side at home...he'll lose tons of credit in just one weekend.
