Everything Eddie has said is factually correct

Patchell is their 3rd choice 10. He is inexperienced. His inexperience means he hasn't had to start a test under the expectation of a good performance yet

Refreshing that in an era of fake news and misdirection Eddie is upholding the truth above all else

I see what Eddie trying to do, but the last time he did this with a flyhalf (Sexton 2016) he was the stand-out player in the ensuing test. England still won but it would have been a hell of a lot easier without a highly motivated Sexton.

Patchell is no Sexton. I expect him to get roughed up.
Patchell is no snowflake though, when Jonny Gray was charging towards the line early in the Scotland game it was Patchell that brought him down.

By who? England's powder-puff backrow - or his colossus opposite number?

Perfectly legal tackle, as the ref and video ref agreed. Plisson uninjured, getting up and playing on (only a little less flat to the line, and with a little more of the fear of God in him).

That most notorious of tackling foul plays, leading with the shoulder.

Trolling aside, my personal view is that it was marginally late (though slow motion makes it look worse). It wasn't high and as for "leading with the shoulder" -

Latest betting is England 6/1 on, Wales 4/1 against. The bookies are usually right..

The Bookies are almost always right. I predict a big win for the Saes.
Same here......Saes by 15 - 20 by the end

Give over, that wouldn't flatten Patchell's mother. There's a difference between knocking over a Frenchman and knocking over a rugby player.

No you fvcking dickhead, what the fans want to see is a win

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2018/ ... ugby-union
Little more than an hour after the England head coach, Eddie Jones, had made a number of unflattering observations about Wales, their scrum coach Robin McBryde said: “I think we have a duty to the paying public – the price of tickets at Twickenham is quite high so the last thing [fans] want to see is a scrum-fest. We are comfortable with our attacking threats.”

The daft thing about Eddie's comments is, he's essentially told Wales that Joseph is going to be used an an outside shooter...and this is what happens when you have obvious outside shooters:

You just go deeper and around!

Which incidentally is how your mum likes it as well. :smug:

Anyone got that gif of Scott Williams man handling Lawes, stripping the ball off him and running in for the match winning try in Twickers?

Patchell doesn't seem to lack for confidence though, which he will find useful on Saturday.

YOYO wrote:As a 3rd choice OH Patchell is not bad at all. He’s a skilful creative 10, and a fairly wirey lad. Not sure what his defence is like though. Experience could also go against him against England.
He is not a great defender, prone to interceptions and not great when a game needs control
Apart from that he is great
At some point he has to grow up. As noted he isn't a great defender, but he's a relatively big lad. I much prefer him defending at 10 than at 15. If Wales can compress the midfield, as is their usual tactic, then I don't think anyone is going directly through/over Patchell...his problems are more centred around making tackles when someones got outside of his shoulder.

For a very quick guy, Tom Croft just looked as though he was running through treacle!

You're right though - sneeze, look up and youd wonder what the fudge had just happened.
