I don't really read story books. Last one was I am Pilgrim about 2 years ago. Just seems like a colossal time sink to be entertained and distracted. Yeah, like a computer game, but at least you're interacting with a game instead of just being fed the story.

Read a fair bit of non fiction though but mostly online. However I did just buy Jordan Peterson actual paper book and will read that.

Nope. Sports online and the odd movie or series on Netflix. But not "TV".

Still... a movie goes for 3 hours max. I got right into I am Pilgrim and spent every second of spare time reading it and it still took about 4 days from memory.

What’s your username?
Is there a Max Payne for PS4?

Edit: Ah! My PS4 username. Good question. I don't use connect much but I'll look it up.
Cool, I'm mrbungle1

Do you do watch fictional TV series, then?
Why are fictional books a waste of time but screen based entertainment isn't?

Yeah ... as a sidepoint, I remember "good graphics" being important for games back then - a big selling point. I've never played a PS4 before, but I was checking out some titles on YouTube to have a rough idea what to expect. Holy shit ... it makes me wonder how they're going to outdo it? Surely it just can't really get much better than what it is now, in terms of visuals. Those games look absolutely insane - they're more visually impressive than real life - and run at 4K resolution. What's the next thing going to be? Why even bother working on a PS5?

It seems the only way forwards from here in terms of games is to start concentrate more on the actual game mechanics, A.I. and stuff like that, because any increase in visual quality is going to be negligible at worst and superflous at best.
VR. What they have now is basic in terms of graphics and the fact that you're stuck to one small space. But even then it's fun, sitting on a rollercoaster you can feel the forces against your body, even though you're just sitting there not actually moving. Or skiing I couldn't stand up. Played a few shooter games too where you have to duck behind walls and whatnot, even something simple like chopping fruit for points is fun.

Five to ten years down the line who knows what they'll have, especially when prices come down enough that the general population starts buying and spurs more development. Should make for some intersting porn too
Really not sure better visuals is the answer there. Definitely not for the space problem. I dunno how they're going to solve that.

Were developing a VR game at work so have a bunch of those goggles and shit lying around. I've tried a few demos and they're pretty mind blowing. The T-Rex thing is full on.

Thanks for the tips guys.

I ended up with UFC 3, Horizon Zero Dawn and Shadows of War (some LOTR thing).

I'll give them a good shake tonight, most likely the UFC one, instead of the usual wasting money and time in the pub.

I wanted that Deliverence one but it's apparently not released yet. Looks the business tho, whoever recommended it.

Monster Hunter World, now that I've played it, is right up your street too.

Had a serious think about it but for some reason those gigantic weapons turned me off. A person with a sword as big as them? They'd never get it off the ground. Yeah it's just a game, I know. I'm a weirdo.

I have enough entertainment now to last me a very long time anyway. But I'll probably still get the Deliverence one and Red Dead Redemption 2 when they are released.

Cheers for the tips. First console I've ever had. Never even had a Nintendo.:D

P.S got it working but can't play it because the boss is watching Altered Carbon on Netflix. I'm planning on listening to JRE and staying up once she goes to bed. ... Fml....first world problems.

I just bought UFC3, Madden 18 and Elite Dangerous online.

I like sports and open-world / survival type games. What else should I consider?

I want to get one of the boxing ones too, but there's seems to be some debate over which one of the Fight Night games is better out of 3, 4 and "Champions".

Reckon Metal Gear Solid V is a good shout. You'll pick it up for cheap and it really does give you a myriad of options in how you approach an enemy base etc. Story is gash but it's probably up your alley if you liked Rainbow 6.

Watch Dogs 2 is another one with plenty of action/stealth open world options as well as the set missions with a choice to play good or go rogue.

MGS V is top notch value for money ( you should be able to find it in the bargain bin for around 20 bucks) Great open ended stealth gameplay against the Soviets and Apartheid era South African mercs. The story is non sensical but honestly you won't give that much of a fcuk...

So many different ways to approach each episode ( alternatively you can call in air support and just fcuk shit up)

So um yeah, what woodlands said.... my best game on ps4
