But it was a knock on in the first place?

I think it’s best we leave this to the experts at world rugby rather than conjecture from what a bloke on the internet says.

The experts who put together a clusterfuck of a world cup host recommendation?

It was clearly a knock on.

The shocking part of this is that the TMO had two things to adjudicate: the initial knock on & the grounding.
He got both calls completely wrong. He did however correctly call the try not given by some miracle.

Great, so not only did the officials get it wrong three times on the day (no knock on, grounding, 5m scrum???), they've now got it wrong a 4th time.

Do we really need two threads of uninformed people arguing the toss with a handful of deliberate wind up merchants about something trivial until the heat death of the universe?

Hang on. Checks website address. As you are then. Carry on.

Out of interest, what exactly did Rolland say that the TMO got wrong? If he just said he got the grounding call wrong, it doesn't mean they're saying the try should have stood, they may also want to point out he got the knock on wrong too :D.

You couldn't make it up.

Luckily, despite all their incompetence - the correct outcome, somehow, resulted..

My only disappointment is we didn't get page after page of nerd accusations and unclarifications from Monocum the Almighty.

Matter closed then. Shocked they’re not going to replay the game though as would be the correct conclusion given their admission.

Rollande said that given what he was asked to adjudicate on, and given he missed the knock on, the tmo should've awarded a try.

I've just asked Wayne Barnes and he disagreed with Rolland and said it should have been a penalty try for England and a yellow card for the NZ 12

I asked Clancy the same question and he looked at me quizzically before giving a free kick for incorrect numbers in the lineout

All genuine, I'm here at the annual refs conference at Hereford school for the blind trying to steal Kaplans seeing eye dog

Nothing from World Rugby yet, would we expect something official or do we have to take Rob's word for it?

Mate, you still claim Wales didn't host a RWC. You're not exactly credible. Move on from a game that your team was not involved in. You are possessed by Welsh Rugby.

We wouldn't have heard 1/1000th of this cry-baby boo-hooing if England had been denied a try early on in Cardiff last year and Wales had gone on to win that match. It's hugely unedifying, and England would have won on Saturday anyway.

If the Welsh want posters to move on - they should stop starting new threads whinging about it.
