Glad you got the thread up before one of the Welsh looms like Dai. That’s definitely advantage Ireland in the PR physiological warfare stakes.

Think Ireland half backs will be too strong and will be the difference. Although 2/3rds of this Welsh team plus Liam will have very fond memories of last time they played in this stadium which might help

Furlong should be fine but Henshaw is out for the season, unfortunately.

Likely to be Chris Farrell for the Wales game but Garry Ringrose is almost back fit and should play some part in the Championship.

What can I say I'm an ear man.

Immaculate woollen coat, nice facial bone structure, shapely body, pleasant smile and to die for “be naughty to me” eyes. Go easy on dolly.. and leave some for Dai.

Plus the ears give you something to hang onto.

Wonder if Gatland will keep the faith and stay with the team of the last two games.

I've seen Farrell play a couple of times that I'm aware of, but I've failed to form any real memories of watching him play. Will watch with interest

Has been mixed for Munster, but was really good alongside Aki against Argentina in the Autumn. Big and quick, but seems to have good hands. It will be a huge test for him.

stupid mistake launching this thread .... the Welsh probably had another 4 days of energy sapping bitterness in them over the Twickenham TMO, then along comes feckwanker and turns their slack jawed, lazy eyed gaze our way

Farrell seems pretty good at making ground in the tight exchanges and freeing up his hands to pop an offload. Has the potential to have big games but might need to improve on consistency.

Whose the best of the two big Ulster sons, McCluskey or Farrell? Schmidt obviously thinks it’s Farrell.

Have to say I’m worried about Hogg. He seems to love scoring against Ireland.

Will they? We'll still be without Ball, Warburotn, Faletau, Webb and Jiffy Jnr, with no guarantees on Liam Williams. 1/2p and Biggar.

Hmmmmm

Heaslip
Sob
Ruddock
Van Der flier
Ruddock
Ringrose
Henshaw
Conway
Payne

and for varying other reasons

Donncha Ryan
Zebo
Beirne

Jackson
Olding

All unaivalble for Ireland

Out of curiosity, if Beirne was Welsh where would he play under gatland?

Wales B my arse.. Ireland just as much a B selection if you want to go down that route.

Ireland is missing..

3 centres in Henshaw, Ringrose and Payne.. includes our until recently first choice
3 first choice backrows from these injured 4 in SOB, Heaslip, Van der Flier and Rudduck
1 first choice backup to Sexton in Paddy Jackson (court case)
1 first choice righthead prop in Furlong (touch and go if he’ll be available)
1 potential first choice FB in Zebo (not considered due to impending French club move)
1 potential first choice lock in Donnacha Ryan (not considered due to French club)
Jack Conan no.8 also on the injury list after the Italy game.
Not to mention Munsters no.7 Tommy O’Donnell out.
Connacht lock Dillane out due to mothers recent death. He was due to bench.

That’s 14 key players out with just Furlong and Conan likely to make the Wales game.

Edit: Conway out
Olding (court case)
Tadgh Beirne not considered

So that’s 17 players in total out right now, of which 2 may come good
