It seemed like a plan, just that they didn't change quickly enough when it wasn't working. They expected to soak up pressure and played up to that preconceived notion of how the game would play out.

I’m ignoring Biggars performance. I’m just assuming he’s gone now. Great in the air, and if he could pass on those skills to the others then brilliant, but elsewhere, he’s yesterdays man. Incapable of running an attack. Likewise Halfpenney, but without the Ariel skills, ironically.

Usually travelling to Twickenham an overriding concern is whether our scrum can survive, but this year I think we have nothing to fear, and fully expect that, assuming we have Healy/McGrath and Furlong fit and available, we'll fcuk them up badly there. They'll have a slight edge in the second row but I'd expect our backrow and halfbacks to be considerably stronger than theirs. No perceived superiority matters a rats arse though once the teams get out on the pitch, and home advantage is a huge factor in this fixture.

quite bizarre - are you sure you've got the full story from your missus ?....us paddies can be heartbreakers and sometimes the women folk can harbor a grudge.

funnily enough myself and missus were out in town/Dublin saturday night and bumped into plenty of Welshies and had good banter with all of them, actually seemed like we were both trying hard to say any perceived spite between both sets of fans seems to be media generated. Met one particular old gentleman on his own (taking a break from his mates) that we had a great chat with - he's been coming over for this fixture for 30+ years and said its the only fixture he'd never miss.

I can assure you I have the right story. I was thinking that the pub would be a blast at around 6pm with both sets of fans going mental for a Scotland win and then Scotland actually winning but it wasn't the case. Maybe they just got unlucky with a bunch of idiots.

The ex is also a bit of a Welsh nationalist and voted remain, so she was doubly hurt.

I call bollox. She was paying €8 a pint so was in Temple bar where there's only tourists.
