I expect Ireland to up a gear and win by 10 at least.

Wales really ought to win, as long as they don't lose their nerve - they are pretty much at full strength while Ireland are missing a few big names.DragsterDriver wrote:I expect Ireland to up a gear and win by 10 at least.
I'm also counting on home advantage. I think we'll win just.ovalball wrote:Wales really ought to win, as long as they don't lose their nerve - they are pretty much at full strength while Ireland are missing a few big names.DragsterDriver wrote:I expect Ireland to up a gear and win by 10 at least.

Couldn't agree more. Would have chucked Liam Williams at Full Back and George North on the Wing with Steff Evans.cubby boi wrote:What the fück does Halpenney offer when Biggar is selected?
Halfpenny can catch, kick, and tackle better than NorthDai another day wrote:Couldn't agree more. Would have chucked Liam Williams at Full Back and George North on the Wing with Steff Evans.cubby boi wrote:What the fück does Halpenney offer when Biggar is selected?
Ireland by 16.
This is the one game in the 6 Nations where home advantage often doesn't seem to matter all that much.Frodder wrote:ovalball wrote:This should be a cracker of a game. Two very good sides. Wales now with a full strength squad to choose from, battle hardened from their exploits against England and confident from their demolition of Scotland. Ireland maybe a little under cooked but with Home advantage.
I'd have had Ireland as big favourites before the start of the 6N but now, too close to call - Wales to edge it, maybe.
Will be close but Ireland by 7 for me. Home advantage to count
I see you would pick your backline on defensive qualities - which is fair enough. But I thought we got past that phase. I thought we moved on to Scarletball.P in VG wrote:Halfpenny can catch, kick, and tackle better than NorthDai another day wrote:Couldn't agree more. If a fully fit North and Tips, can only make your bench, you can't really complain.cubby boi wrote:YOYO wrote:So after the bating from Wales of our B team on Saturday, provided we can stop them getting a 4 try bonus point and we get a losing bonus point, if we put away Scotland, we may still have a chance of the title on St. Patrick’s day. So when Ringrose wasn’t available, your centres were b-team and now Ringrose is now available you’re still b-team because you haven’t got the original b-team selection available? I can’t keep up, bless you.
Webb, Faletau, Warburton, Ball, Jon Davies - We’re missing far more quality from the first 15. We haven’t a hope.
What do you mean “historically”? How “historic” are you going? I think that under Schmidt we are leading 3-2, but haven’t all 5 been home wins?Plato'sCave wrote:This is a much stronger Wales side than two weeks ago, home advantage doesn’t historically count for much in this game, if we lose there’s no context apart from Ireland being better
I do think our front five and halfbacks are better, but not sure you're right about midfield. I think Shingler was well suited to the Scarlets style free flowing game, but Biggars selection probably means at least a small change in style, and not so sure that will suit him. We'll need a huge game from Leavy to match Navidi, who has been one of my favourite players for a while despite playing in such a poor Blues side.Frodder wrote:feckwanker wrote:No excuses now Welshies.

Your front 5 and centres are better than ours. So are your half-backs but apart from that. Ireland by 10
Ringrose is available and we were told that he and Aki are your first choice. Stander at the very least is your first choice and probably Pom too. Payne? God knows where and why you’d want to start himYOYO wrote:cubby boi wrote:YOYO wrote:So after the bating from Wales of our B team on Saturday, provided we can stop them getting a 4 try bonus point and we get a losing bonus point, if we put away Scotland, we may still have a chance of the title on St. Patrick’s day. Henshaw, Ringrose, Furlong, SOB, Payne, Van der Flier, Heaslip.
Bench missing Luke McGrath (SH), Paddy Jackson (OH), Zebo, Dillane.
Not mentioning the other extended squad players missing.
Jon Davis, Webb & Wartburton your only main players missing. Warburton might as well be omitted from the conversation as he’s a perma crock.
We'll post as we please, etc......CM11 wrote:Can we please stop with the pre emptive excuses.

Is what I’d say if I were covering my back, but let’s face it, Wales have threats all over the park and Ireland are stagnant plodders. Anything but a Bp win for us would be unacceptable.cubby boi wrote:I think that Wales will play the better rugby, but there will be an air of inevitability throughout that Ireland will scrape through with their home advantage.
If this is anything other than an arm wrestle I'll be very surprised. An intent to attack. Open rugby. The Welsh way.
I just hope these selections don't revert us back to the dirge of yesteryear.
