Scotland played smarter rugby and thoroughly deserved their win. Hopefully this is not a one off and they can consistently challenge for the 6N for the next few seasons at least.

Other sides deal with their strength at the breakdown far more effectively than we do, which then exposes their lack of heavy carriers for front foot ball to attack off. A case of styles and strengths. Scotland are extremely well placed to beat us regularly I feel (not every time as such, but no shock that it happens), they can destroy our attacking ball, giving themselves field position and good attacking ball.

It is easy to see why Scotland came so close against the ABs in the EOYT -- it is no longer the case that they rely on Celtic passion and pride. They play damned fine rugby and seriously bossed England at the breakdown today.

Scotland's problem is away from home, get that right and they will become a very good team.
Ireland will be very tough.

Doesn’t make England a bad side overnight, and it can’t affect your Lions chances given that the tour already happened.
