Poor ABV he was batting well. South Africa first innings total 162 and trail by 189 runs.

Had a sneaky suspicion that this was on the cards because in all reality South Africa struggled against India in the tests and were lucky I thought to win the series .

Fùck, we just cant beat Ausralia in South Africa, 4 - nil a possibility.

Also FFS, sort out this tail scoring runs, 100 added for the last 3 for OZ!

Declare an over or two after tea. Again light will be an issue as you don't have daylight saving.

Nah, you don't lock in a declaration from this situation yet.

Keep batting. Try to get another 150+ ... there are still 8 sessions left in the game and the odds of rain Sunday/Monday are low.

8 sessions left in the match , 3/4 sessions needed for OZ to win(set score of hmmm 450 to 500) probably only need 2 sessions to bowl them out though!

That would still give you the target you would expect around tea. Bizarrely SA don't have daylight saving so you might not get a full session in before stumps. That time may or may not get added back on.

It fúcks up your sleeping patterns in Summer and puts you in the wrong time zone. Try being in Queensland in Summer where they don't have daylight saving. You wake up in bright sunlight and it is only 5am thinking it is 7am fetching for a nap in the afternoon if you are able to.

It’s gets light at 4 am in Durban in summer, but you can’t tell them that’s weird. :uhoh:

I think it would be longer than that; well into today's last session (assuming they don't collapse).

And even then, it's a flirtation with perhaps sending them in. Why give 'em a chance earlier (unless you have to)?

Batting conditions actually look reasonable right now.

That's because you are in the wrong time zone in Summer. When I am in Australia in the states that are in the 20th century when DST was brought in the clocks are adjusted properly so I am awake at 7am where sunrise is later instead of 5am. Stone Age stuff really.

As much as two sessions?

I'm afraid I don't hold out that much hope. :?

Still, although our top order hasn't fired for a couple of years now, they have at least shown that they are capable in the past.

For the next game (it is presumed that we will lose this one) I'd think about including Klaasen and relegating de Kock to batting only.

Well outside off playing a shot.

I believe due to the impending retirements de Kock will give up the gloves to become a batsmen. People in the Australian press believe that Faf will retire which I find hard to believe Elgar should be the next test captain.
