Superb in the second half and he and SBW combined well. Early on through SBW's usual butter fingers cost us the 1st try and contributed to the 2nd.

But Reiko played superbly in that second half. Three tries from the Ioane family. 8) :thumbup:

Yep and yep.

Thought they all pushed passes far too much in the 1st half. Good effort in the 2nd though. About time they showed up in the last 20. :nod:

There seems to be some misconception on how shit the Blues are. They were 8-1-6 in 2016 and 7-1-7 in 2017. That's average of course, but they're hardly rubbish. It seems to be blown out of proportion because they play NZ teams more often.

As I tried to point out earlier in the week, the Blues shitness is greatly exaggerated by the conference system. For example;

Last 20 games against foreign teams;

Blues - 16W 3L 1D
Sharks - 13W 5L 2D
Lions - 13W 7L
Stormers - 10W 9L 1D
Jaguares - 9W 11L
Bulls - 8W 12L
Waratahs - 6W 13L 1D
Brumbies - 6W 14L
Reds - 5W 14L 1D
Rebels - 4W 15L 1D
Sunwolves - 2W 18L

That's incredible. :thumbup:

Yeah I was swearing at the TV. "Just hang on to the fucking thing!" :lol: :x

If they could just learn when to offload and when to hang on and set the next ruck. You don't have to score off every phase ffs!

Andries Coetzee should never again be near a Bok jersey.

I think this was obvious even last season.

In fact the Lions trio of Cronje, Jantjies and Coetzee really let us down last year. x(

it was a scrappy match and too loose.
This is the way the Lions manage their game and you are going to come unstuck against teams that play it loose better than you.

Lions had the game in the bag, but they should have tightened up their game in the last quarter. I think Swys is just a bit too risky with his gameplan.

I don't think it was Swys's game plan. The players started pushing for bonus point tries and probably bargained on the Blues running out of steam in the last twenty, which they didn't. Their game became unfocused and individualistic in the second half especially. Letting in two tries in the last 5 minutes is inexcusable

:thumbup: It's a tough competition and to throw away a win is criminal. Still, Lions the best SA side by a fair distance.

Super slow in his service. A big lad, I expected more commitment from him. Very static, too.

Forwards will dominate the Bulls (who will be just returned from NZ, then)

Well they gave the Blues the confidence to beat the Stormers this weekend.

Lions blew a very good lead.....I questioned their fitness against the Sharks.....something is not right there

Thats a bit unfair. He had a good game and is coming to age.

I hope he does but to suggest "he's coming of age" after one game against the Sunwolves is a little premature imo.

Terrible game management in the end, when they should have played percentage rugby and closed out the win.

I guess they still wanted to chase the BP. And to their detriment.
