This ref made a Blues player with hands on the ball release when challenging but give the Lions all day with it.

I noticed that the Lions played loose with the ball at the end which most Kiwi teams don't do. I don't know if this means the Blues have turned the corner or just the NZ conf is merciless.

And.........

Entertaining as that was, the Lions chucking it around with a slender lead and 5 mins on the clock was stupid.

Well done both teams tho' for being mental.

HOLYYYYYY SHEEEEEEEAT! What an amazing game, geez I'm glad I watched that, even just for the last ten minutes. Unreal stuff, Blues were incredible, how did they finish so strong up there? They were flying in!

SBW and Reiko really turned it on at the ned, so dangerous, Blues 15 was great too, Duffie?

The Lions played absolute brain-dead rugby in the closing stages there.

Deserved win for the Blues.

If they can reproduce that 2nd half on a more regular basis they'll be a handful for any team. Never seen them like that.

Never fight crazy with crazy.

Lions: Watch how crazy we can play.
Blues: You may play crazy and look crazy, but you didn't inherit it. you werent born and nestled in its bosom.

Just woke up to the result. Stunning.

Sounds like Akira Ioane has finally come of age and will be a feature in the All Blacks this year.

Vert disappointed in how the Lions threw the game in the last 20 minutes. They expected the Blues to fade, which they didn't

Luckily a wake-up call early in the season

Well done Blues. I had a feeling all week that this would be the game you fuckers decided to show up :D

Lions have work to do after that, need to find the pragmatism balance.

I think the main issue, regardless of individual players, was that then Blues never gave up. And the Lions probably expected them to fade in the last 20

The blues were the better team for long periods but kept throwing needless offloads and trying to score in three phases. Once the passes were only given when on (and some luck) in the last 20 it was a different story. Basically after the intercept.

I have to say though, as much as their attack kicked into gear there intensity in defence was unreal and just grew towards the end of the game, there were some huge hits.

The main issue is that the Lions needed a Captain to give direction and close the game down. Junkies never did that.
Having said that, the Blues were superb in the last 20.
