After 3 rounds:

1. Slipper (Sio should get back in there though)
2. BPA/Uelese - can't decide here
3. Tupou
4. Coleman
5. Rodda
6. Cottrell - tough one this
7. Hooper
8. Timu - not much here either
9. Genia
10. Default (Foley, I guess)
11. Sefa
12. Kerevi
13. Hodge (reckon these are the better positions for Hodge and Kerevi)
14. DHP
15. Folau

6, 8 and 10 real worries. Hopefully Dempsey comes back well.

He was bad v. the Reds too (except for his try). Not sure what's wrong with him.

the kerevi experiment needs to end. when they shifted him to 12 midgame against the bulls. those defensive mistakes cropped up 2 or 3 times again. the reds weren't burnt but at test level it would've been another of those disasters.

if you take away the goal kicking, maddocks has already displaced hodge.

all the reds tight 5 and subs have earned a shot too.

Kerevi played 12 the whole game. Neither of the 2 tries were a defensive errors from him. Last night was his best defensive game for the Reds IMO.

Correct. Not sure who old mate was watching but Kerevi had a great game.

Hey? He was very good against the Brumbies. How close to being Australian is he?

Maddocks > Hodge btw. Get him in there. Don't rate Cottrell, surely there are better options?

Who? Hanigan isn’t up to it. Timani is good for 5 mins a game. Korczyk is a bit light and inexperienced for an international 6. Valetini would have been my pick, but he’s broken.

Maddocks has been playing 14 and looks the goods. Lets keep him there and put DHP on the bench. And then I would think about Hodge at 12. Although Beale will get the 12 jersey, Hodge on the wing and Maddocks on the bench, which is not ideal.
Naisarani had a crap game against the Reds? I cant actually remember. The whole Brumbies team looks poor. It might mean Larkham isnt as bad a coach as we thought.

That was a very solid squad from Bindi. Even tho' his innate sense of fairness saw him selecting too many of The lesser breeds without the Law (™ R. Kipling).

Your irrational hatred of hodge is hilarious.

Maddocks is a 10. I want to see him there and Koroibete back on the wing for the Rebs. Maddocks could be our Barrett

What about Lukhan Tui at 6 if Dempsey isn't back? I think we'll see Hanigan there though TBH, particularly if we're seeing a return of the Pooper

Coleman and Philip should be the lock pairing with Rodda on the bench. As for no 6/8 there are a few options in Tui, Dempsey, Timani and Hannigan.

How's Pocock going? Not really watched.

Is it the rigth backwards step to make to go for the Pooper?

Came back from sabbatical then had an operation and missed the season start. Hasn't played yet.

IMO, it's not the way to go. But it will happen.

This isn’t a bad shout. Arnold could lock too and not miss a beat.

Timu is a bolter for 6 too.

Philip has been really good and his combination with Coleman have been vital for Rebels. So I'd say keep that partnership at test level. I think we finally have a few options at lock with Rodda, Tui and Arnold. Rodda would be my pick out of those players. But there's a still a long way to go before Test season and different options could emerge.

Oh how I wish Mafi was elgible to play for Wallabies!!

Yep :( Chieka is stubborn and not very adaptable. Otherwise we wouldn't have lost to England 4 times in a row. He keeps making the same mistakes.

Let's see how Poey is after his layoff. Robbie Deans was effusive about how hard he's been working on his carrying and link play.

Pocock and Hooper are the two best players in Australia. Until we have a standout, world class 8, they should both start and play 80 mins.

Oz depth in the front 5 is outstanding. Kane Douglas is hitting his straps too! I think we’re onto something cool.

Yep. Actual depth at prop is amazing. Having Tupou to spell Kepu is awesome. Tupou played 72mins on the weekend and looked quite fit. Had lovely hands, got a turnover and scrummed well. JP Smith looked good when he replaced Slipper too, might be a smokey for the squad.

JP isn’t a smoky - he’s clearly in the top 3 LHPs in the country. Tupou is a freak - maybe even Lomuesque. Qld has 2 good hookers and Uelese is a monster. TPN isn’t dead either.

I won't be suprised if Tupou unseats Kepu this season. A real difference maker, and seemingly better every game he plays.

Tupou will have the 3 jumper by the Bledisloe I reckon. Kepu on the bench is a rare luxury!

Yep. Plus AAAAAA as a useful depth option.

Hopefully Holloway cones back into his 2016 form, he'd be a brilliant option at 8, with Poey at 6.

I’d be happy with that. Naisarani will have a crack when he’s eligible.

If TT keeps his good scrummaging up, no reason not to throw him straight in IMO.

Smarter than Kepu - less penalty prone, busy around the park, and a weapon on attack. Still laughing at all the Kiwis on here who declared him absolute rubbish when he decided to leave for Australia.

Nah, looseheads are a dime a dozen.

Kepu is a top-level THP.

Don't "fix" something that ain't broken. The Wallabies need him as a tighthead.

Not straight away. He's still 1st choice at 3 for now as far as I'm concerned.

Tupou, while he has greatly improved over the off-season, is still a n00b. I expect he'll be mainly a bench player at test level for a time yet. Perhaps a few starting gigs as the RWC gets closer.
