Gordon showed his class and speed for the Wallabies, now he's doing the same for the SR side.

How good were the Wallabies 9s and 10s? I mentioned Conroy before, and Genia was straight back to his best while Powell's service and speed to the breakdown were brilliant. Toomua and Stewart were both solid as a rock at 10, and Sorovi and Deegan both pretty flash for the SR 15. The opinions that Australia has a dearth of good 9s and 10s don't hold water any more. Toomua I reckon has come back from Europe a better 10 than when he left.

I didn't see the game but sounds like Toomua played a good game. Good news for Wallabies and Rebels!

Toomua was rusty for sure but had some nice touches. His kicking was very good in general play and for goal.

Hodge was disappointing at 13. It was like he was going into contact at about 60%. Not sure he is the answer but he may have been holding back.

yeha hodge was weak there, English was doing better for the super team at 13 ...cheika has to bite his lip and pick folau there against the AB's with DHP at 15 and Hodge on left, folau might get lucky if nz names goodhue there..at the very worst, folau will have his defence tested...

so chiefs winger Toni Pulu just signed for the brumbies but because he carries an Australian passport, he is already eligible for the Wallabies thanks to a dispensation granted by World Rugby... WTF? they are ignoring the fact he played 7's for Niue ..

It appears he was never eligible for Niue so that doesn't count

Samu Kerevi will be playing rugby in fiji this weekend ahead of the 2018 NRC game between the Drua and melbourne rising in the Fiji Legends vs Classic Wallabies, does that mean he is fit now and if so, why isn't he being recalled by the wobblies?

Maybe this is a fitness trial?

BTW, who says he has missed out on selection for the Bokke test?

Looks like Cheika is searching for options at 6 with Hollaway, Dempsey and Cottrell called up. I rate all of them above Hannigan, so happy to see any of them trialed.

He did not stand out last weekend. Looked a lot better early in the season, before his injuries. No need to rush him.

Horrible conditions for him to try and stand out in.

Torrential rain on a mud-bath suburban field.

But Hanigan is still there. What’s the bet he starts at 6?

Dempsey is the guy I reckon. Love to see him start with Cottrell on the bench.

I don't know, Cheika does like Jack.

I'd like to see Dempsey with Holloway of the bench. He can cover lock 6 and 8, and is much more explosive than Cotties Cordial, so offers more impact.

I was smashed at the start of the week to find McMahon will miss the RWC, but picked up a lot yesterday with the great news that Petaia will be added to this squad for the November tour - very, very smart selection.

A few years ago I would have been equally excited to see Holloway in there, but he never followed through on the devastating form of his first couple of seasons as an 8 with the Tahs. Since then he has seemed only a shadow of that person, and just trundles around like a standard uninspiring lock. He has long been assigned to my 'Wha' happen?' file as one of the most bewildering cases.

Dempsey for 6, unless the selectors minds are on vacation.

I just hope the ARU threw the whole bank at Dempsey's physio. Dude was on fire before he wrecked his leg in that stupid exhibition match.

Holloway was looking the goods a year or so ago. He’s got legit #8 skills and is hands down twice the player Hanna is.
Maybe he will get a trot?

The backrow as a unit must be more than the sum of its parts.
Just thought I’d throw that out there in case Chikada is listening in.

Best XV from that?

1. Sio
2. Fainga'a
3. Kepu
4. Coleman
5. Rodda
6. Dempsey
7. Hooper
8. Pocock
9. Genia
10. Toomua
11. Hodge
12. Beale
13. Kerevi
14. Folau
15. DHP

i'm still shocked naivalu gets picked, hasn't been in form in a while but tbf, has been good in green and gold..personally Folau should stay on the wing, I think DHP brings a different dynamic on attack from fullback..would also like to see Banks and Koroibete on the bench since Banks has to be the next Wobbly fullback after the 2019RWC..and marika will be useful in the last 20 agaisnt tiring teams..A fit kerevi will always start for the wobblies, we all know how Chieka thinks.. i don't like foley but he will take the bench ahead of marika or tom..

Despite not playing on last years EOYT, and being injured for a few games this year due to Kiwi foul play............

Pocock smashed it at the John Eales medal.

He played the same number of tests as Pocock - didn't go on the EOYT, and was injured for a few matches this year.

And he's been fairly rubbish in the RC.

Lukhan Tui came second?

Jaysus. No offence to the guy but he’s a lock trying to learn how to be an international 6, on the job

The rain isn't affecting him today... he's been smashing Fijians.

It probably means one of his knees will blow out at any moment... :uhoh:

So Clyne and the co cvnts putting out a statement backing Cheika and his coaching team to the WC. So lose every game between now and the World Cup Cheika is safe. Funny about what Clyne steps out of the shadows to make a statement on.
Obviously the Arg game has been an aberration in their eyes.
