Great shout..... Real lynchpin on those 98-01 Tigers teams that were always depleted due to having so many players on England duty.pandion wrote: Howard

Alaister Hargreaves and Jacque Burger deserve considerationSaint wrote:Bruce played at 13 more than a few times for usmessage #2527204 wrote:5 Fernadez Lobbe .. and you have to find room for ReihanaopenclashXX wrote:If we're going for a XV (fill in the gaps)

He was utterly phenomenal for Leinster, then he left and just disappeared. I thought he would go back to Aussie and be a great captain but he just dissapeared. What happened to him when he got back? Did he even make the teamWilderbeast wrote:I thought Elsom did well up north but I haven’t seen him mentioned?
Edit: he went to Ireland didn’t he? My bad.
He made the Wallabies and he was gash.goose81 wrote:He was utterly phenomenal for Leinster, then he left and just disappeared. He was going to be my suggestion too. From all respects Umaga did a similar thing with Toulon in France - well, after him they spent big but when he was there he reinvigorated the team - and helped increase the gate in all their opponents (in the 2nd dvi I think) home games.Magpie26 wrote:Buck Shelford basically dragged Saints to the top level of English rugby by himself.
If only they could find someone like him today.....
With due respect to Umaga, Toulon bought quite heavy that year(including George Gregan), so it was hardly a solo mission like Buck .UncleFB wrote:He was going to be my suggestion too. Returning to the OP, I still can't believe that Gopperth suddenly became good.
He's a pretty uninspiring 10 but has played really well at 12 for Wasps.UncleFB wrote:Returning to the OP, I still can't believe that Gopperth suddenly became good.
Christian Cullen at FB ? he was broken when he went to MunsterBrumby_in_Vic wrote:Ian Jones and Horwill have put in good spells in the row.
Bruce Reihana would have to be up there with the likes of Goneva, Tagibackibau, Rabeni in terms of tries scored.

Chris Jack was awful here. Took the cash was lazy and had a shit attitude. Kris Chesney kept him out of the team , and made him look average. Compared with other kiwi locks like Brad Thorn who were popular with the teams and fans, Chris Jack sadly was a big disappointmentTrue Blue wrote:Whatever happened to Chris Jack anyway? He was supposed to be the next great thing, but Ali Williams seemed to eclipse him and then he seems to have just vanished.
