I never knew his name was McBride as he was just Big Tom in my house. Back when not having a surname meant something

Mullet I heard he once went a bar for fellas but that was only because he used to learn some of the dance moves off them. A man like Joe wouldn't know how to dance

All I know is this.

The full medical resources of the state must now be put in place to keep Dickie Rock and Red Hurley alive at all costs.

Look at the hat. Just look at it. And this song was about how the divorce referendum would leave us perverts like the Belgians and I am testament to that

When I was a kid, I recall ‘Big Tom and the Mainliners’ were one of the big Country and Westen bands. I’m guessing my parents saw them. Big Tom was a bit of icon in Ireland, we all know of him.

RIP big fellow.

RIP Big Tom.

He played at our (the first Mrs G) second wedding reception with the Mainliners "over the border" when we travelled there from Gortin to meet up with relatives in Éire.

My then father in law knew him quite well. I think we got "mates rates".

Because of trouble on the border crossing we arrived late. But they were on until about 3am.

I actually didn’t know who that was in his avatar. I thought it was the character Jaws from those old James Bond movies. The lad with the metal teeth.
I couldn’t tell you any Big Tom tunes but he seemed like an icon all the same.
