Nope not really - was genuine , haven’t had lunch out of that Tupperware in years , just got me thinking that’s all. The Oundle one features a lot less high in my thoughts on here than some would have you lead believe !

A pair of Black Trickers Country Brogues, which are at least 25 years old. I keep them on wooden shoe trees and bull them occasionally so that they have a mirror finish.
Get surprising amount of compliments from the laydeez , considering that otherwise I am an ugly . Salad dodging Bald Git!

I think it’s the flashes for my kilt socks that I got when I was 18 (1989). Still got the kilt as well, but for some reason that doesn’t seem to fit anymore.

How does a kilt not fit? Mine's very adjustable?

And sandstorm, what type of oik owns a plastic comb?

One with hair, nothing wrong with a plastic comb. Oldest thing I own is probably my laptop bought around 2012.

Have a pencil case I made in woodwork class from intermediate school. I still keep pencils and erasers and whatnot in it for use when I need them. Seemed the obvious place to keep that stuff which is why I've kept it I suppose.. Not strictly "purchased" though.

I think the oldest thing I purchased is a couple snapon screwdrivers and a 1/2" ratcheting socket wrench I bought in my first job. Probably from a couple of my first pay cheques.

Mind you, it was an AU $8K model when new and the idiot CIO didn't realise this when he signed off the redundancy a few months later

I've got a few old books I bought from a second-hand store in the mid-eighties which are now over 200 hundred years old. I tried reading them but they were too boring.

I looked them up on the internet recently and they're not worth much.

i must say, I find this (rather boring) thread quite interesting. In a way, items like books don't count, because they are emotive, personal, not bought 'to do a function' as such, and can stay on a shelf for decades before you read them again. Most probably everyone has things like these from their childhood, I have somewhere a complete collection (up until that point) of Thomas the Tank Engine, Fighting Fantasty books, Asterix to name but a few.

lots of people have family heirlooms like grandfathers pocket watch - didn't expect Grandpa's Axe though ! Love the fact that a tool implement is still used decades later for its precise purpose, when modern things from B&Q break after 5 mins.

I am now sixty-five and a half.

Do I win?

Having been on the move and regularly had to up sticks over the last few years I don't have too many things that are old or have any sentimental value at all.
About the only thing I have held on to is a hat I got about 20 years ago and still wear when I go to places commonly referred to as shit-holes. It's a cap with a grinning skull emblem on it that wins friends and influences people everywhere it goes. It's had a hard life, and it shows. Damned if I'm getting a new one though.

I have a pillow case from when I was about 3 years old. I'm nearing 40.

Cartoon characters and everything. Wife tries to "accidentally" throw it out every few years but hell no.
