Heard a number of stories recently relating to ex-pros and things.

Is there too much of people seeing the game as nothing but a source of money for themselves? The game has given them a lot and when compared to stories you hear about lads like Cody you have to ask if we're losing something.

Do ex-players need to give back more to the game?

Bit of a tangent...

I could never be accused of being pro GAA but what they have done for the women's game is impressive. No whining, confident, popular, secure with their own schedules and timetable. You get a sense there is a love of the game. Is there moaning when the lads play that shite in Australia?

The Rugger ladies genuinely believe they should be pulling in 100k per annum.

Speaking from a point of total ignorance, but is GAA totally amateur? And do fans pay to watch it, and TV companies pay to show it? And if so, who gets all that money?

The old rugby way. They get cushy jobs and expenses
The Government also gives them a grant. But the GAA pays them nothing. The massive money raised by TV and fans all.goes back into the game.

It's why all.up and down the country you will.see GAA clubs with amazing facilities.

There's no putting the professionalism genie back in the bottle. The top end of the game is a business now and if it's not making money for those involved, nobody's going to take it on
