A sneaky “stomach bug” to break out in the Chiefs squad just to make absolutely sure?

Ah, Sards, they’ve effectively conceded this game already. The coaching staff knew that they had to rest all their ABs at some stage and have chosen to do it all in this one game. While it’s exacerbated by a heavy injury toll, and they would never intentionally “tank” a game, everyone in that environment knows that a win is now highly unlikely to impossible.

There’s every chance the Sharks would have rolled a fully operational Chiefs side anyway, but this decision all but guarantees it.

So this is the “early excuse” - the Chiefs will not win this game. I’d put money on it, and it wouldn’t pay out much.

we cannot be embarrassed any more than we are already to be sitting on the same log points as the Stormers and Bulls.

The team on the pitch will be good still - the bench will need name tags...

If anything, the Bulls should be embarrassed by that. They are so much better than the Sharks.

Strange to drag the Stormers into this

Chiefs has a lot of injuries, All Blacks resting, the Sharks looked second rate against the Bulls. Cripple fight.

I don't get your point? The Stormers is a weak team with a poor coach.

Hey. I wouldn't bet 10 bucks on the Sharks currently. But it does look as they have been coached to the Kiwis only......

That must have been very hard for you to type you poor thing. I'm saving it for future use though.

Why? Unlike fans from some teams, we are able to admit when we're playing kak and changes need to be made. You don't become the best team in Africa without being able to look at things critically.

Greatest. Not the best this year unfortunately.

Not really. It's a fact. I don't like it, but it is what it us. Luckily only temporary.

For the Cheetahs it's permanent.

Would be a major choke if the Sharks lose. They are the best team in SA, with the best coach and the best players. Some have said they are great. The Chiefs can't replicate last week's performance, especially in the scrum even with the same bent kiwi ref. Sharks should walk it.

Out of the 4 SA teams, you'd back the Sharks as being the most likely to beat an NZ team in NZ.

Home game for the Sharks, so the Chiefs Country District side should be in for a proper thrashing.

I'm not buying any of that crap.

We'd stand a better chance against a full strength Chiefs team in Hamilton than a second-string team in Durban.

It will be close.

Yeesh, looking at the players unavailable for this game, yeah it's best the Chiefs supporters do get their excuses in early.
Quite apart from the injury toll, to have our remaining ABs also unavailable that team is looking like a C Team Dirt track wider training squad benchwarmer roll call.
Hope they make a go of it but the Sharks ought to win by at least 20. It'll be a massive failure for them if they don't.

Not bad. Glad PvdW is back.

Not ecstatic about seeing Mvovo back, he's been well below average this season. But Mapimpi was also poor last week.

Not as horrific as I'd imagined but still very much a B/C/D side.
