Isa and Cordero both already goooone (to Toulon and Exeter respectively), now Sanchez has signed for Stade Francais

Chuck in Imhoff and Figallo and you have potentially five first-choice Argentina players ineligible

Methinks the home based selection policy for the Argies is about to be severely tested

I thought they'd already chucked it?

Relax it for world cups, keep it otherwise in my opinion.

You know the home based selection will change, that was informed (off the record) by the UAR when the new general manager took office a couple of months ago.

In any case, this is good, Sanchez was stopping all other excellent FHs to show themselves.

I see this as a very good opportunity for many other guys looking for exposure.

When World Cup comes all this base selection policy will be cancelled in favour of Isa, Imhoff, etc. etc.

Having said so right now no more than three of four european based players have enough quality to match jaguares players.

Pity that they can't all be poached before this Saturday's game.

Now UAR seems to have a change of heart about that policy. Because of the current success of Jaguares, they will give them the possibility to prove themselves without foreign-based reinforcements at the June internationals. Afterwards, they will decide what to do.

I find this lack of direction appalling. :frown:

A Giteau rule for the Pumas sounds sensible.

You guys have given wonderful service to the Top 14 and selfishly it's a shame there are less of you. Roncero was a bit of a hero.

I would like to understand that the stand by was issued and will stay as long as those foreign based players are not needed.

The article says that the FBP will not be needed for the summer /winter window and RWC coming that might change.

Now with Sanches away, Isa, Imhoff, etc I think many others will be tempted to follow the same path (I know for a fact that Petti received two offers from french clubs).

On the other hand I have also to understand that the stand by was issued in order to discourage other guys that may be thinking on going away.
