It's very likely a terrorist hit and run, but they don't want to give it coverage.

I wish someone would pick the ball up and Lomu a few players en route to scoring a try under the posts.

That’s how to do it. No backward step, no fear. Not a word said. No argument, no discussion. Just the consequence being displayed for anybody who wanted to receive it. Allowed the players to choose whether they leave or stay for themselves.

Top reffing.

Must have watched a different match (OZ vs FRA) as apparently OZ were victims because of the video relay and penalty(it was a clear penalty, ref mucked it up).

Look Oz played well but all they did was defend, France were horrible to be fair but still managed 13 shots at goal, with 6 on target. OZ managed just 4 with 1 on target  .

To explain what we are seeing, I will quote Alex Ferguson.

"They are both equally brilliant' but Messi is suited to Barcelona's system, Ronaldo can play in any system".

On top of that Messi is in Maradona's shadow, Ronaldo only has to worry about Eusebio.

Generally, US sport more than other countries always looks for the superstar within a team as the person who will win it for them. Brady, LeBron, Ovechkin, Jeter etc. Very noticeable in their commentary. Germany must frustrate the f out of them.

Spain vs Portugal was the best international football match I've watched in a long time. Maybe since Wales vs Belgium at the Euros?

Tournament seems to be going well so far.

Big win for the hosts to get the whole nation interested, a classic game already, some good goals, stadiums look decent.

yep, enjoying it so far

stadiums look good indeed, lively atmosphere and spectators close to the pitch, must be the first WC with all rectangular stadiums, purposely built or renovated for soccer only (maybe except england '66 ?)

And no reports that I have seen of any crowd issues or Russian intolerance.
