1pm kick off at the Oval

Stokes and Woakes missing - Plunkett and Wood struggled against Scotland, Buttler back in and Bairstow is in ridiculous form.

Stanlake's pace could be fun and Aussie are giving a couple of debuts to Short and Neser.

Pitch and conditions
The Oval tends to be good for batting whatever the format, and there have been 10 300-plus ODI scores on the ground since 2015. Given recent dry weather, there might, however, be some purchase for spin. The forecast for Tuesday is warm and cloudy, but don't expect the white Kookaburra to swing.

Stats and trivia
Morgan needs 110 runs to overtake Ian Bell as England's leading run-scorer in ODIs.

Before defeat to Scotland, England had won six bilateral one-day series in a row.

Australia's last ODI victory at The Oval came in 2010. Since then, they have suffered two defeats and a no-result.

Jonny Bairstow has three hundreds in consecutive innings - only two players have four in all ODIs: Kumar Sangakkara and Amy Satterthwaite

Warning to England. The Australians like to cheat by scuffing the ball with sandpaper to effect reverse swing. So watch out for this type of shenanigans. Truly, this happened recently in South Africa.

Slightly off-topic but didn't want to make a new thread:
NZ women's player Amelia Kerr scored 232 not out v Ireland. That's the third highest in ODI cricket history, highest women's score and the youngest player to score a double century - she's 17. Her team just got the highest ODI total last Friday (490).

I know, women's sport, but still thought it is worth mentioning as trivia.

Time for Morgan and Root to show why they are Captains.

Amelia Kerr’s got 3-13 from 5 overs too. Ireland 129-8 chasing 441 to win. More realistic target - 162. That would allow them to get as many runs in 3 innings as NZ managed in their lowest. An Irish 17 year old, Cara Murray, conceded a record 119 runs from 10 overs in the last game, her debut. Most one sided series in the history of international sport?

133 all out. Murray last out. Kerr 5-17. NZ win by 307, and the series 3-0 by an aggregate of 959 runs.

Dont forget that they have to play by the rules since ‘that’ incident.

294/1 from 33 overs. And, the only wicket to fall was a run out :?

These pitches don't give the bowlers much chance - I'd rather see a contest between bat and ball.

304/1 from 33.2

Bairstow gone for 139 - nailed it but straight to the man on the mid wicket boundary. Brilliant knock.

Buttler to the crease.

Is the bowling really this bad or are the batsmen just in a zone?

Watching a 4 or 6 every second ball tends to take away the enjoyment of them.

Bairstow is in the form of his life. Pitch is flat from a bowling POV - but Aussie are giving plenty of poor balls for England to be going at almost 9 an over.

It's a road - fast outfield and not the biggest ground. Decent, but inexperienced attack, and the batsmen have taken full advantage so far.

On a brighter note for Aussie fans, your boys will be in with a chance of scoring the highest losing total in an ODI.

T/20 shows most people want to see the ball sailing over the boundary as often as possible
