bizarrely they've opted for a replay of HB vs the Tu instead of Harbour/Counties live...

TBF the NRC game they're showing live starts mid-way through Harbour/Counties, so it's somewhat understandable (though still bloody annoying).

Counties lucky not to be down to 13 with all these scrum penalties.

Bit of how's your father early in the game and ref dishes a RC to the Naki lock. Common sense, please, ref.

Ouch, 75 minutes with 14. What was the offence? This could continue a bit of a horror year for Taranaki. You look at the quality of that side and wonder what has happened.

Hoeata, being the POS he's been his entire career, landed a solid punch on Christie.

Nothing more than handbags before that.

He had to go.

Yup red all day.

This could get ugly for Naki in the second half. They've given away heaps of penalties, wouldn't be surprised if they went down to 13 for a while.

I'm listening to this on the radio. Wtf is going on with this game? Red card to Daniel Lienart-Brown.

Brainless from Leinart-Brown. Red every day. Can't remember the last time I saw two reds in the same game.

Missed the punch -- my labrador decided that was the moment she just had to lick my face

F me that pass from Romano was impressive. Like Tana to Sivivatu years back. Nice finish from Ennor too, he's looking classier with each first class game.

Will be interesting to see how the semi finals pan out.

Canterbury should make the semi finals this year, but they are almost no chance of winning their 10th title in 11 seasons. This is the weakest squad they've fielded throughout that entire period of success. If they can keep the squad together they'll be better next year.

I wouldn’t count them out just yet. They can match it with Tasman and Auckland and that’s all they need to do in one game

19-19 Stags v BOP after 64mins.

Is it just me, or are the 2 main sky cameras fuzzy as all hell? Poor definition.

It wasn't just you, and it's not the first time it's happened this season. There's been at least one other afternoon game I watched that had a shoddy picture.

Joe Moody is wiping the dust off his boots as he prepares for his latest comeback in 2018.

All Blacks loosehead prop Moody, who hasn't played since fracturing his left thumb against the Wallabies in Auckland on August 25, is expected to get a run for Canterbury in their final Mitre 10 round-robin game against Counties in Pukekohe on Saturday night.

Providing the 36-test bookend emerges from the fixture unscathed, Moody should be asked to re-join the All Blacks ahead of their upcoming tour to Japan, England, Ireland and Italy. Their first match is against Australia in Yokohama on October 27.

All Blacks tighthead prop Nepo Laulala, who is returning from the fractured arm that required surgery and forced him to retire from the Chiefs' Super Rugby campaign after just one appearance, will represent Counties.

Moody & Laulala both due to play this weekend. Great to finally see Laulala back after such a long layoff.

With talk that Coles should be available for the EOYT too, our front row stocks look particularly strong, all of a sudden.

1. Moody
2. Coles
3. Franks

16. Taylor
17. Tu'inukuafe
18. Laulala

Great news all around. Is Hames too not close to a return?

TBH, we should go Oz-like on him and kick him out of the country rather than select him for a national team.

A no look behind the back flick pass to a prop under pressure in the rain... :uhoh:

Good stuff, Ruru.

Our second string pack has largely been a bit ordinary. Southland a good deal better at the breakdown. However, Stags haven't looked like scoring - lacking penetration and have been cut down fairly easily.

All in all, pretty average half of rugby - but Aucks up 14-3. Just get the win, boys.

Auckland lineout throw way off centre but the ref was fortunately looking to check the Stags’ backs positioning so missed it

Lineout has been a bit shit - but Olmstead has made a big difference.

We're rolling nicely now.

Yep, and really can’t see Stags scoring any tries.

And they're over!

Very taxing game for our forwards - but our backs (the guys that will start against Harbour) - haven't had to do too much.

Pretty sure we've only won 2 turnovers at the breakdown this entire game - both by Olmstead.

Akira is on the bench - but I doubt he gets a run here.

He shouldn't.
