Clear night over the UK, look north and up about 60 degrees. Emination point a touch below cassiopia. Seen 8 in 20 minutes.

I did a 30 min stint ~ 22:30.

I saw 4 in total.

The first one was a rather brilliant white blue, probably in the top 3 best I've ever seen for brightness and color.

The other 3 more run of the mill flashes.

I saw one that covered about 30 degrees of sky and seemed to move relativley slow. The others were fairly short as you say. My best was a window shaker back in Zim that went horizon to horizon and broke up into many peices, the bang was low and loud. I pitched up at the astronomical society meeting the following week and the place was packed. They were estimating that it was a baseketball sized rock.

I just googled it. I think the elephant melted on the way down.
