That seems to be America's problem with everything - The far outer fringes of lunacy, on every topical component of society, are mainstream or accepted as valid proposal.
It's fair to say they don't actually know what's good for them bar a middle section of good natured normal people trying to hang on and navigate through it all.
Indeed.

I've almost given up actually caring about this situation. It's just so dire. There's no way they can change now. The country is a dumpster fire.
Cf brexit, trump etc

I think we're getting so insensitive to all of this shit, we're taking it as the norm

Which is not good for any of us (stating the obvious, I know, but it has to be said).

Trump tweets that they already have very strong background checks. FFS.
One of the reasons schools get targeted. Mass shooters typically have a "fear of failure" in the task they assign themselves so they pick the softest targets possible.
Good to know English schools are safe in that regard. As for many there is no such things as fail.

Americans should follow suit, pass everybody and you might get less shooters.
Fewer

Yep - not even a separate thread dedicated to a mass shooting where 7 people died :?

oh...and thoughts and prayers of course

Edit: I say this a little facetiously (which I probably shouldnt) as my local FE college is TRUMPeting that they have a 100% pass rate for A level.
Tbf they could well do, a pass is technically anything other than an F or ungraded. Doesn't matter than anything below a C is completely irrelevant in life, it's still considered a pass.

If they're claiming they got 100% A - C that's also not out of the bounds of possibility.

It just too common, chances are by end of September and almost certainly by end of October there will be another. And every likelihood there will be another within the next couple of years involving a school..,,

Amazing when you think about it, that in a 1st world country there is an issue that will mean children will be gunned down in their school, and yet there is not the political will in the country to resolve it..

There'll be loads in that time frame, we just won't hear about them unless they have a certain number of bodies.

Using the definition of a minimum of four people shot, but not necessarily killed, there were 283 mass shootings as of yesterday. It was day 244 of the year.

You are correct, (which makes it worse).. I should of clarified with "a shooting with a body count high enough of innocent victims by random shooter that international news sources run the story, rather than to day to day mass shooting, which if they occurred in the UK or Australia may be front page news, but as they occur in the USA are too mundane to be picked up by anything other than the local town newspaper.”

I've only just watched one of the more recent seasons of south park, rather on the nose with how normalised school shootings have become, but so accurate.
