The next storm on it's way to the gulf. Currently, Cat 1, predicted now to be a Cat 3 by landfall...according to the link below..."it's at 70mph, not quite hurricane strength but that's good enough, we're not messing around with this one"

Looking out the window now I see nothing more than it being a littel windier. It has been like this all week. As it is my first year here, I do not know if I should expect anything whipped around to the atlantic coast either.

That's bizarre, I posted that last night.

Anyway, does anyone better informed know the route it's taking. She's in Cuba till Friday then flying, I think via Atlanta, to a wedding in new Orleans. How likely is this to happen?

Michael. Referring to a poster on here who named himself. I do not really want to spill him but this is too good.

No, I'm in Columbus, GA. We'll get a few wind gusts, nothing more. The coast is going to get battered though. Bigger storm than Florence.

Funny how after all the Florence media hype, this one has hardly received any attention and it's now the strongest to ever hit that part of Florida. The lack of coverage probably partly due to the fact that just a couple of days ago it was nothing more than a TS. And it's still gaining in strength with a slight chance of it being a Cat5 by landfall
PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Michael's leading edge careened onto northwest Florida's white-sand beaches as a still-growing Category 4 hurricane Wednesday, lashing the coast with tropical storm-force winds and rain and pushing a storm surge that could cause catastrophic damage well inland once it makes landfall.
The unexpected brute quickly sprang from a weekend tropical depression with top winds growing to 145 mph (230 kph), the most powerful hurricane in recorded history for this stretch of the Florida coast.

"We are in new territory," National Hurricane Center Meteorologist Dennis Feltgen wrote in a Facebook post Wednesday. "The historical record, going back to 1851, finds no Category 4 hurricane ever hitting the Florida panhandle."
Rainfall could reach up to a foot (30 centimeters), and the life-threatening storm surge could swell to 14 feet (4 meters).

And here's the danger of the seemingly always sensationalized fake news.
In the dangerously exposed coastal town of Apalachicola, population 2,500, Sally Crown planned to hunker down with her two dogs.
"We've been through this before," she said. "This might be really bad and serious. But in my experience, it's always blown way out of proportion."

150mph winds now. At 156mph it will be a cat 5...still a few hours before landfall. Pressure and everything else needed points to it being a Cat 5 already, the winds just need to "catch up"

#Hurricane #Michael's pressure continues to drop - now to 923 hPa. Only 4 hurricanes on record have hit the continental US with a lower pressure: Labor Day (1935), Camille (1969), Andrew (1992), Katrina (2005).
