Are you lot not supposed to be one of the better pretenders after Sarries/Exeter in the premiership?

Yes, but everyone else is pretty average/inconsistent. We just happen to be a bit less so.

I loosely follow the prem results, but don't really watch it at all, so I've no feel for form, areas of strength etc other than what I read/hear.

I hope WLR drops the ball while swan diving again.

Last season we showed glimpses of being fairly decent but we're a shower of shite this year - getting hammered by both Exeter and Glaws at home for example.

Fardy and SOB on the bench, how many teams could do that?

Wasps are effectively playing against Ireland (with Lowe, Fardy and Tomane thrown in for good measure)

The Exe margin was 11 points and Glaws 14 (with a later try from them glossing it a bit), so I wouldn't call them hammerings.

We're not good, that's for sure, but we aren't dire.

Exeter and sarries are ten points clear already. The league is turning into Scottish football.

As for the most supporters represented, it's probably between us and quinns. The sale lot are surprisingly vocal though

They're relative hammerings when you consider they're home fixtures.

We're also missing a load of players. 1st choice loosehead, tighthead, lock, 1-2 backrow, scrum half, 12 and 14 :D.

It's not so much the individuals missing, particularly at loosehead, but that a lot of their replacements are quite new to the club or in crucial positions, so the cohesiveness of the team is very much a work in progress and due to injuries/recoveries the team hasn't managed to be settled and start improving cohesion during these opening rounds. Particularly through 10,12,13.

Robson, Launch, Cooper-Wooley and Gopperth (given both our 10s are new) are big losses in terms of individual personnel, though.

When you fail an HIA you go through the return to play protocols. Presumably he's come through those alright.

in 5 days?

with a long haul flight in the middle of it?

with assessment split between 2 medical teams?

and coming down from altitude?

Wasps will have a major case to answer IMO, if he suffers a reoccurrence tomorrow

Can't see why we'd rush him, it's not like fullback is where tomorrow's game will be decided and either Miller or Daly could deputise adequately if he hadn't completed the RTP successfully.

Le Roux failed the test he took after the knock, but passed the one immediately after the game, I think that means they skip a bit of the protocol (maybe the rest period at the start). Read something like that.

To fail the initial HIA test, all that's needed is a suspected concussion. i.e. they don't risk you playing on even though you might not actually have been concussed.

They then figure out after the game if you actually have been, looks like he wasn't.

He is alleged to have tweeted "What a joke" while actually at his hearing, and afaik they suspended the hearing over an "issue that arose during the hearing", which issue is possibly / probably the tweet. I don't think it was because they couldn't reach a verdict, but as you say he can't play until they do.

Don't think there's been a minimum time off in the pro game since the 90s. It's 2 weeks min at all other levels.

Just refreshing my memory there and it does seem like a concussed player can play the following week if they pass the return to play stages.

rfurlong, what Le Roux would have gone through this week re. travel probably helped, not hindered the diagnostic stages

Ah. The report I saw this morning made no mention of that, but Nobleman's link has more info than it did. Sadly consistent with some of the braindead penalties he's prone to giving away.

Serious Leinster team though, imagine having to leave SOB and Fardy on the bench.

It would never happen but pretty much all the players are close enough to the Irish first XV that it's not too much of a stretch. All 14 Irishmen might make our WC squad while Lowe definitely would.

Yeah, that was really my point. They now have equivalent quality in attack and defence, but it wasn't achieved by raising the level of the latter.

Agreed Wasps need to harden their defence. There are some good players in the Wasps side but I think Leinster have just too much strength and smarts in their team. Can’t see further than a convincing win for Leinster in this game
