I heard it a couple of times in the context of computer gamers who are losing but didn't really get what it meant. Rubbing salt in the wound or throwing a tantrum or something. So it's just crying? Okay.Nolanator wrote:Tearful. Salty tears.
Have you genuinely never heard that expression before?

It's fairly prevalent in online vernacular with all the cool kids. Probably why you'd associate it with gamer tantrums.Mog The Almighty wrote:I heard it a couple of times in the context of computer gamers who are losing but didn't really get what it meant. Can't see how Coppers post qualifies as that though. More like "stick it up your ass" to Brad Thorn.
Not sure how, BBT would be more loved in both NZ and Australia.Mog The Almighty wrote:I heard it a couple of times in the context of computer gamers who are losing but didn't really get what it meant. BBT just needs to point at his trophy cabinet. His CV would look like the Encyclopedia Brittanica, Fraids woul look like a packet of cigarette papers.Toro wrote:Not sure how, BBT would be more loved in both NZ and Australia.Mog The Almighty wrote:I heard it a couple of times in the context of computer gamers who are losing but didn't really get what it meant. He seems a bit of a dick to me tbh.Toro wrote:Not sure how, BBT would be more loved in both NZ and Australia.Mog The Almighty wrote:I heard it a couple of times in the context of computer gamers who are losing but didn't really get what it meant. Nah, he sees Fraid as a pea heart on defence and flaky as hell. BBT wants to develop a team who will do the basics consistently well. Plus I don't think he wanted a prima donna screwing with the team culture he wanted to develop with his young team.
I doubt BBT thought Fraid was worth worrying about during their playing days, when Fraid spent his time hiding from contact. He didn't do anything to earn any respect back then, in fact quite the opposite. He behaved like a tool, especially his attempts to maim St Richie.
Sounds like you've met him personally. I've only ever heard nothing but praise for the guy from fellow players, opposition and both league and union coaches, but have never met him personally.Mog The Almighty wrote: He seems a bit of a dick to me tbh.
Although his credentials a rugby man and a hard one at that are beyond question. There's more to a person than that.

Reports from people in closer circles to the playing group indicate he's slowly bringing happy clappy jesus praising into the fold.Toro wrote:Sounds like you've met him personally. I could throw Fitzy in the same bracket I guess but i met him and he was a cock, so who knows.
But given Quade's track record I'd hardly accept his character judgement of anyone.
He watched the guy for a season as assistant coach, watched him ignore the game plan, not put in and decided they were better off without him.CrazyIslander wrote:My respect for Thorn has diminished due to the way he treated Quade. Been happening for a long time, a relo of mine worked at the Reds during the McKenzie era and stated to me the tail (QC) wagged the dog there. Obviously the buck stops with Ewen who i was told was good at disciplining the group as a whole but not one on one._fatprop wrote:He watched the guy for a season as assistant coach, watched him ignore the game plan, not put in and decided they were better off without him.CrazyIslander wrote:My respect for Thorn has diminished due to the way he treated Quade. You don't need to know someone personally for them to "seem like a bit of a dick". He's a bible-thumping teetotaller who waltzed into the Reds setup on a wave of hype and threw out a guy who has over a hundred caps in that jersey, and was easily still good enough to be considered for International duties, for what seems to be some petty personal issues and has basically done nothing else worthy of mention for the club. I don't particularly like Quade's approach to rugby, or his off-field antics, but a true mentor would take the guy under his wing, not kick him in the arse.Toro wrote:Sounds like you've met him personally. Sometimes use just remove the toxin from the teamMog The Almighty wrote:I love how predictable Kiwi preciousness is. Believe it or not, there's probably more than a few "legends" who have donned the black jersey, who are in fact, total assholes. Think about that. Regardless of what you think of Quade. Thorn doesn't seem like a total asshole. He just seems like a bit of dick in my personal opinion, and I might be wrong. That's not such an outrageous thing to say, take a few deep breaths.
Like I said, if he's a "toxic douchebag", then a real leader and coach would mentor him and straighten him out. As far as I'm aware, Thorn didn't even try. Just enacted some petty personal grievance.
You don't try to mentor and straighten out gangrene. You cut off/out the affected tissue and move on.Mog The Almighty wrote:I love how predictable Kiwi preciousness is.
