The Boks were pretty average throughout the EOYT. I don't think that except for PSDT and a lesser extent Mostert and Pollard there were any stand out good players.
The thing is that at times like that it is up to the captain to inspire, to rally the troops and most importantly to lead by example. Not to be work shy.
Most of the players have had long draining seasons. I am sure that they are mostly all tired.

But not tired enough for a game and sing-along with the Barbarians, for some.

And an 80 minutes on the pitch giving everything for the barbarians.......

I think that's a bullshit excuse. My lads have worked the entire year and still are going at it hammer and tongs.....and I am sure that if they were paid what the rugby players are earning they would make a big effort.

If this is related to Kolisi....he was like that last year too....one of my biggest gripes....I complained that he would manouver around to the back of the breakdown and hold onto whatever player was working the ball and just stand there looking around. Never getting stuck in.....and then when he was appointed captain the next few games he was suddenly hitting rucks and even I was impressed...since then he has reverted back to type.

Your lads hit even fewer rucks than Kolisi. And they are not captains of a national side ..

What with current load shedding they can just as well go home. Had about three hours' electricity yesterday, intermittently. Get fookl done.

To be fair, I'm sure Sards's "lads" don't get paid millions to play a game

Ag, he is being paid.

Why extend yourself if you know you have a job, come hell or high water ?

Well according to Yank, Sards's braai's are so expensive that he could very well be paying them that. ;)

I agree with this and mentioned that he wouldn't have been my choice for captain. Duane, if he was playing in SA at the time would have been imo. I was happy for him for being appointed but didn't think it was the right call. At the time though...we had very few local options that were close to first choice starters.

And you don't need electricity to build braais. Just a generator and a welder. Sards is being escorted around CT by his driver while his poor okes are sweating in the shop.

Hell, suddenly I am jealous. And tired of working the umpteenth Xmas in a row. Voluntarily, nogal.

Think I will take a sabbatical next year, or at least take my wife (and myself) for a good break somewhere. Time for the younger folks to step up, take responsibility and keep the ship floating.

Daar is derduisende mense wat afhanklik is van mense soos ek en oomPB wat brandewyn drink. Dink aan al die werknemers by Distell en KWV en Klipdrift ens. Ons sit borde kos op hulle tafels neer.
