A lot of Brexit talk this morning.

Teams announced probably tomorrow.

I'd like us to get our back row more balanced this Saturday. Conan back to 8. Keep Ruddock at 8 and VDF at 7

Think we need the full court press and go the whole 9 yards.

I hope we don't beat Bath by too much. I'd hate to ruin Jumper's Christmas.

Are we abandoning the old thread then?

Bath news is that Cokanasiga is out, but Mercer is fit and Burns is touch-and-go. Current absentees:
Joe Cokanasiga
Knee – medial ligament
Early January

Taulupe Faletau
Fractured forearm
Late December

Paul Grant
Calf strain
Mid-December

Tom Homer
Shoulder
Mid-December

Jonathan Joseph
Mid-foot ligament repair
Mid-December

Beno Obano
Combined knee ligament injury
Mid-2019

Rhys Priestland
Adductor Strain
Late-December

Anthony Watson
Achilles
Early 2019

Best guess at the team:

Ruaridh McConnochie
Semesa Rokoduguni
Jackson Willison
Jamie Roberts
Cooper Vuna
James Wilson/Freddie Burns (battle of the match-losing-f^ck-up 10s!)
Will Chudley

Nathan Catt
Tom Dunn
Henry Thomas
Dave Attwood
Charlie Ewels
Francois Louw
Sam Underhill
Zach Mercer

Tough to see Bath backing up last week's performance, though another laissez-faire French ref might give them the breakdown opportunities to keep the score relatively respectable.

Any places in NY - (west) midtown to catch this game?

Try The Playwright Irish Pub, it's close to the Empire State. They certainly used to show all the Rugby games give them a call.

Weather looks to be really foul. Strong winds (50kmh plus) and heavy rain (3-5mm).

I know I'll be lambasted for this but I'd bring Fardy in for Ruddock.

It's not an apples for apples decision, because it then affects the bench scrumhalf as well. Even if you'd prefer Fardy over Ruddock, I don't think anyone would argue Ruddock + JGP is better than Fardy + O'Sullivan

There’s a coupe of playwrights in around that area, there’s a bar owned by a Limerick lad called Junction near grand central, I imagine he’ll show it.
If not, Gabby O Haras near Bryant Park will surely show it.

I'd have preferred Ruddock to start at 6 with either JVDF or Leavy at 7 but other than that, like that side .

Ruddock has one of his worst games in years last week they’re right to drop him

Bath side:

Surprised Catt is benched; thought he had a good game and handled Furlong well in the scrums. Same backrow again makes sense.

Backs are as-expected

There’s no way Adam Byrne and Noel Reid would be in the 23 ahead of him if he weren’t.

I asked Jean off the weather to sort out a bit of wind for us. The Bath flags whip around in the wind and I can tell you I will sue if one even brushes off my face
Well, if one of them scars your beautiful face I’ll sue as well.

Handy fiver for me.

Just noting that backline.
That’s the fastest I have seen for a long time. Pity it’s not a dry evening.
Hope Sexton dinks one or two over the top for ROL to speed onto.
Fûck the weather lads, we’re going to run it.

You'd have to wonder if the game is at risk? The wind could be dangerous, could be public transport issues, etc etc.
