Not sitting around with a f ucking candle on the table discussing wankers beers brewed by two lads in their back garden.

Glad I could clear that up.
Fixed.

O' Donohues and Toners ?

Both have added huge beer gardens on recently, which attracts a different clientele, although nothing beats afternoon pints in Toners, and I'm old enough to remember being locked-in during Holy Hour !

I love the Flowing Tide. That's my Croker pub.

They do a "craft beer" which must be just slops from last night mixed in a bath tub but the hipsters love it.

Toners is like a tale of two pubs - old man bar at the front, massive beer garden full of 20-somethings out the back

Stick Hartigans in for O'Neills and you've nailed it.

Ate in The Lucky Duck last night, and enjoyed it.

Also had a few pints in the renovated Ryans of Camden Street. Lots of hipsters.

Ate in the Donnybrook (Madigans that was) after the Leinster SF a couple of weeks ago and it is really a very good local restaurant indeed. Will be using it more regularly on match day next season.

I thought that the Madigan family still owned the pub and Tom O'Connell was just leasing ?

In any event Oliver Dunne of Bon Appetit in Malahide and others is running it now.

Ok, I guess my question should have been leased it back but you've answered that question.

They're a real problem especially outside the Lidl on Thomas St. It gets worse we you head down to James St where all the homeless hostels are

Ate in The Fish Shack on Parliament Street on Saturday night. And very nice it was as well.

Temple Bar on a Saturday night is a very strange and crowded place indeed.

Going to kd lang in the NCH tomorrow night. Any suggestions for a pre concert dinner venue would be most welcome. Mrs L has suggested The Unicorn for reasons of nostalgia, so I’d appreciate any thoughts on what it’s like now.

Haven't been in the Unicorn since the "Bang Boys" were running it.

Georgio Casari is also gone and owns/runs Gigi in Ranelagh.

The Coburg, in The Conrad across the road, whilst not cheap, serves good food, and are good at making sure you're not waiting if you're going to the NCH across the road, without rushing you either, if you know what I mean.

Ravi's kitchen is a good Indian in that area.

Lobster Pot is very old school and quite expensive but the fish is delicious

Rolys is an option as well
