Law book is pretty clear on these ones. Ref just making stuff up

Law9.13 - A player must not tackle an opponent early, late or dangerously. Dangerous tackling includes, but is not limited to, tackling or attempting to tackle an opponent above the line of the shoulders even if the tackle starts below the line of the shoulders

I've just watched it several more times (Live pause and rewind is great) and I would have called it high. Always above the shoulder line.

But those are the breaks and no real damage done thankfully.

That'll do me too. Taufua off for Ethan Blackadder

I think there is a special directive on head contact as well luckily 2 SA refs will be ready to step up to replace this plum next week.

Hodgman again. He can't scrum and gives away four or five penalties a game. An absolute dumbass.

That's cool I'll back off. Was just making the point since a few from last week assumed this only happens in the Republic.

Ah yes, because the 2 situations were identical.

Congrats Crusaders fans. Grinded it out.

Blues just useless at the moments they are required not to be useless. Always chuckle at Leon McDonald's reactions to the incompetence from some of his players. Welcome to the Blues friend!

Not on this thread mate.

Congrats Crusaders yet again you prove to be the benchmark. Structure and patterns are well ahead of the rest of the comp. Blues have some great potential but need to tidy up a bit. Good luck to both teams over the last few weeks.

Interested to see how Plummer goes tonight. Although his goal kicking was atrocious last week I thought his general play was good and probably the best performance we've seen from a Blues 1st five this year. That was against a pretty average Chiefs team of course. Will be interesting to see how he goes against a much better, well organised Crusaders team.

Well his goal kicking was Ok this week but his general play was ... well not great.

The Blues are incompetent at every facet of rugby. They barely rate as a professional team with tactics and skill levels so poor. The one reliable line breaker they had in previous seasons: Akira, has now been instructed to play as a tightforward...while less effective forwards stand wide and go nowhere. Props and hookers are first receivers of the few bits of quick ball while the player who would put defenses under real pressure is buried at the bottom of rucks.

An abysmal game where the Crusaders allowed themselves to be dragged down to the level of the hapless Blues.

He was shit, and has been pretty shit most of the season. He should’ve been hooked way earlier than he was. Why the fudge can’t the blues region not develop a decent first five? Just unbelievable

Interesting comment re: Akira. He’s been forced to a type of game by ab selectors and critics who say he’s just a show pony and he’s now gone away from the real strength he actually brought to the blues which was his dynamic ball in hand play. Real shame
