Oom. He threw two intercept passes. The only team he played well for last night was the Sharks.
The mind boggles. :?
In his original statement he suggested that Junktjies outplayed Bosch in that channel and is bok material...he had to continue the lie ....
A lie to make him feel better about himself.
I'm trying to figure out what Bosch was doing on the field, apart from goalkicking and scoring a try from an offside intercept (good for him) because stats show he did little else the whole game

Kicks: 5
Passes: 8
Offloads: 0
Carries: 5
Linebreaks: 0
Tackle breaks: 0
TO conceded: 3
TO won: 1
Tackles Made/Missed: 1/2

Jantjies backline were far more attacking.

Both passes were on.

The first was to an inside runner where the Lions got their timing wrong, inpart due to Bosch getting there too quickly from an offside position.

The second was a good option to Skosan who was open out wide with an open tryline. Mapimpi timed his jump well to intercept. This probably effected a 14 point swing as the Lions would almost certainly have scored if the pass came off.

Image

Apart from the crucial intercept Mapimpi fully deserved his MOTM for his defensive work

Jensra...the Sharks just have more money than the Lions...cant blame them from benefitting from corruption...everyone else is doing it

I thought Jantjies was pretty good. I don't know what anyone is trying to prove against him, he is clearly the no.2 fly-half in SA and will go to the RWC behind Handre, but he is far better than Rob du Preez or whichever pile of kak the Stormers are playing at 10 these days.

As well as being a great player, Mapimpi also has the best name for commentators when he scores a try. MA-PIMP-PI.

Has to improve his defence to go to the next level. Just get one of those dumb as rock forwards to run into him, and force him to learn to tackle.

He creates more than he gives away. That's ok for me. No point injuring him now...all our young star material flyhalves we built hope around have spent years recovering from early injuries and we miss out on their best...

They really weren't, that's not even debatable.

He was standing flat all night, and the Sharks defence figured that out early in the game. One intercept might be an anomaly, but to do it again is ridiculous.

Going for the intercept as your main method of attack is fairly risky and won't work in the long run. The other teams will catch on to this (see what I did there) and will easily nullify it.

But it did work.

If the opposition flyhalf insists on playing so flat, the risk is high. It's hardly a long term strategy, just playing what's in front of you.

It only worked this time because the ref and tmo missed Bosch being offside and because Herbst's try was incorrectly disallowed. This happens but you can't bargain on ref errors to save you every match.

Anyway, I prefer that Jantjies play his game and accept that errors will happen.

Jens, I agree, the Lions strategy will work more often than not. Resorting to negative gameplay to win worked this time, but next time the Lions will be prepared for it.

Good luck for next week's match and I hope we can still be civil to each other after the Stormers won.

 Of course, it's the ref's fault

The irony.

They have no shame...making their name totty...even supporting Kiwi sides over the Sharks...
Always spouting their green eyed monster bile on Sharks threads.
Lets see their shame this week.
You may just find that Ouboet and the rest are Hurricanes supporters from " back in the day "

I'm not blaming the ref at all, shit happens. Just stating facts with pictures :)

I didn't expect the Lions to win the game and still feel that they didn't do enough with all the possession they had in the second half.
