Of course Leinster could’ve squeezed Sarries with a similar lead.

You don't play like the Baba's against Glasgow. Re the box kicks it was obviously a ploy and Glasgow were pretty poor under them, they very rarely clean caught any of them.Nolanator wrote:I haven't seen Leinster play that tight/negative that I can remember.slick wrote:Have to say well done Leinster and be magnanimous in defeat. They did deserve it.
If Scotland, Glasgow or Edinburgh we’re winning things playing like this I’d be pretty content I guess. But as an opposition, fudge me its dull, just dreadful rugby. But they are excellent at it, no question.
My only consolation is that if Ireland stick with Sexton and play like that at the WC I think we will beat them, and even if we don’t they have zero chance of going past the QF. Again.
But, fair play, great game, good win, we’ll done.
Usually their phase ball is a bit more exciting than that passage at the end. I'd imagine fatigue of 3 consecutive KO matches played a part.
Agreed on your Sexton comment.
Nope Sarries wouldn't have dropped all the box kicks. Love seeing all of Sewa and Jumpers salty tears, how many trophies is that since Munsters last one.iarmhiman wrote:That performance was good enough to win the pro14 final.
That wouldn't have beaten Sarries. Far from it
A decent half time lead would have made a huge difference to how the second half played out. That Saracens team are monsters so still would have been tough but Leinster would have had a realistic chance.iarmhiman wrote:That performance was good enough to win the pro14 final.

For clarity, I never said the NEXT lions 10, I said a Lions 10, and he will be.
TBF to Sewa, he's barely posted. Armchair on the other hand...Luckycharmer wrote:Nope Sarries wouldn't have dropped all the box kicks. This current Leinster team is better, we don't need to keep comparing them to a team from 10+ years ago every time they stick it up the jumper.

Comment from neutral fan at today’s matchDisappointing experience. Glasgow fans heckling Leinster players as they warm up, swearing at ref over every decision, booing the kicker - terrible rugby etiquette. Venue didn’t take card payments. After match surrounding area full of sectarian football fans. Bit shit Pro14...
Where did you take this from ? A few people on FB saying the atmosphere at the match was pretty toxic . I watched the game in a busy pub so couldn’t hear muchrfurlong wrote:Comment from neutral fan at today’s matchDisappointing experience. That’s Glasgow for you. Parkhead wasn’t set up to accommodate a rugby audience, pretty shit tbh. Cracking stadium but the infrastructure isn’t there to support any sport that isn’t football.rfurlong wrote:Conspicuous wrote:Where did you take this from ? I have to say, some of the responses to the Glasgow warriors tweets by Glasgow ‘fans’ are pretty far removed from rugby values

Magnificent, especially when the next post was by someone that was there, and we all know how much you value being there rather than just watching on tv.camroc1 wrote:So, Leinster squeezed the life out of Glasgow, and despite Owens best efforts won

I reckon irish rugby will have alot of catching up to do over the next couple of years. Fixated on kicking and one out rugby. We peaked over the last couple of years. World cup will be another quarter final failure.

Since Glasgow fans thought he was pro Leinster and you think he was pro Glasgow perhaps Nigel just did a good job?camroc1 wrote:So, Leinster squeezed the life out of Glasgow, and despite Owens best efforts won fairly comfortably in the end.
Hard luck Glasgow. You need some beef to be competitive at the tippy top end. Like Munster, just not quite there.
Anyhoo, another year, more silverware for Leinster.
This sanctimonious bullshit from some Irish supporters does my head in though. A few boos at a kicker after a debatable penalty and an age to take the kick is the death of rugby as we know it. But I’m the 2 biggest games of the year a bit of foul play takes out our best player and removes him from the pitch, well that’s just rugby, innit.Conspicuous wrote:Where did you take this from ? A red because because yellow is not working, these in the air stupid tackles are still happening.dargotronV.1 wrote:Kearney was lucky not to see red, I thought, for the way Hogg landed on his head.
Glasgow will feel they lost that with the Hogg charge down the difference, but Leinster deserved the win imo. Suffocated Glasgow second half. OK, they were dull dull dull in getting there but it was very effective.
Ahh well I’m that case you can take Finn out as well next year.Leinsterman wrote:"A few boos" ah c'mon Slick. There was a lot more than that. Not that I particularly have an issue with it but it was very noticeable over the TV.
Not that it was any worse than you'd see in a French T14 game though
