Try Diamanti. 41-22

Game over. Played Lions

Stormers kids not too bad in second half, but without a hooker or 10 we’ll always struggle

Willemse should have been playing 10 all season instead of those two knobs. Stander has been just as kak all season.

Congrats to the Lions, by far the best team.

Jaco Coetzee and Jantjies the only two Stormers players worth mentioning.

Let’s just call him Hershel

Reynolds had a good game at 10, no interceptions or brain farts

Stormers players. Herschell.

If Elton played the Lions would have won 10 tries to 3, not only 7 to 3

Nope, handed off Eben and took Willemse over the line with him.

Looks to me like he dragged both EE and DW with him

Sheesh....he was on fire yesterday. When you compare him to all the other kak we have at 15 in the competition he really is the best...that should give you an idea how bad the rest are...

Man I thought the ref suddenly only looked one way in the second half, completely ignoring obvious transgressions and being very technical to the other side ( Lions )...but it wasn't overboard and did not change the way the match was going anyway.

I thought the Lions Lions flyhalf had a solid game. He looks like he has more to offer but is a bit nervous about trying too much yet...bit suspect with his kicking...but he got the backline moving around.

I enjoyed watching this match...because the Stomps needed taking down a peg...again...but mainly because it was the only match I got to watch the entire weekend...Lions knew what they had to do and did it. Stormers were left with some egg on their faces...the scrum for the Stormers was a guaranteed penalty to the Lions every time. Ginger and co. are going to have to extract their tonsils from their arses to explain that. Except for Jantjies and Leyds the backline is useless.

The Lions are the only side equipped to challenge from a Saffer viewpoint. Without injury. Then the Bulls and then the Sharks.

The thing is that the Bulls, Sharks and Stormers are better teams on paper, far better teams. The Lions are easily the best coached team in SA. He is head and shoulders better than Pote, Fleck and Dad.

Quote:
Lions stand-in captain Malcolm Marx says the players have stood behind Elton Jantjies after the flyhalf was dropped before the match against the Stormers on Saturday.

Jantjies was left out of the matchday squad for Saturday’s game at Ellis Park for ‘breaching team protocol’. The Lions went on to win the match 41-22 with Sean Reynolds playing in the No 10 jersey.

While the Lions remained tight-lipped around what exactly happened, there were suggestions the Springbok did not follow team orders in last weekend’s loss against the Sharks in Durban.

Speaking after Saturday’s win, Marx said he is happy with the way the situation has been handled.

‘It was handled internally. It was handled pretty well in my opinion. As the players we stood behind him [Jantjies] and also backed the next guy that was coming in as well. Shaun did very very well tonight.’

Lions coach Swys de Bruin added that he was very chuffed with Reynolds’ performance given the circumstances of his starting role.

‘Can you imagine the pressure on him?’ De Bruin said. ‘Being asked to fill in a Springboks’ shoes, so I am proud of him. He did well.’
