Trials have actually been collapsed by reporting from journalists before and no-one's been sent to prison.

They don't want people doing what he's doing. When that Independent journalist Andrew Norfolk started his investigations, the authorities weren't interested in acting on what he uncovered. They only wanted to know how he had obtained his information. That's the kind of environment Robinson is operating in.
