England have massive resources, have spent millions and are at home .

We have RWC’s and will have chances again in the future.
We have no CWC’s and hard to see us winning it ever.
I’m leaning towards CWC.

I was going to do a Halberg award thread next week depending on the result as to who should win it if:
ABs won, BC lost, or won
Or both lost, or both won
Twist would be if Silver Ferns won
Actually thinking about it now the scenarios make it too annoying to work out on a friday night
But it will be there

Hey sure, it's fun to be in the Cricket World Cup final.
Let's not get carried away though. The answer is rugby, all week long.
It is refreshing to be the fortunate finalists though. As has been noted, we are the England rugby side of 2007. France of 2011.

As much as a CWC would be amazing, I'll be ok if we never win a CWC. I want a RWC threepeat. That would be as good as it gets for me as an NZ sports fan.

I'll be honest. When Ben Smith hacked ahead and Beaudy toed and then scored in RWC 2015, that is as good as I have ever felt in my life without blowing my load*.

As I mention on Twatter, when someone questioned how a country of 5 mill with rugby as its national game could beat one of 1 billion with cricket as its game.
If you can't pick a very good cricket side out of 5 million people (2.4 mill if no girls allowed) then you may as well give the game away.
On a good day, that side beats anyone.

Do you mean even odds or the same chance? If the latter probably not far off. I would say the ABs generally have around 35%-40% chance to win a given world cup depending on the quality of the team. The Craps have won 51% of one dayers vs England since '73 but that feels too high based on recent results. So maybe not too far off equal chances.
I reckon we have about a 14%-15% chance of winning both.
