I'm only looking forward to the RWC, so I can watch Beast our scrum talisman, demolish opponents. It's awesome what he's doing there at the moment.

Talisman nogal.

I'm as big a fan of the beastly one as the next, but it's not often we dominate scrums like we did yesterday. So that means the "talisman" doesn't always pull his weight?

He's on 110 caps, and there's been very few dips in form. Been excellent the last few seasons. Even from this season watch the Wallabies test again, he smashed them.

Yes he's the talisman, the whole pack gives out "lets go Beast" shouts before every scrum. Never happens with other looseheads.

Until he leaves the Sharks and then he'll be the worst prop to ever play the game

Added this to my post after you replied:
Besides, if the tight head doesn't do his job the scrum goes nowhere. Hence the term, getting a "right shoulder" when you engage...

Not sure why everyone on this thread thinks I'm a provincialist. It seems to be clouding many of the responses to my posts.

Exactly, They should be the XV props. We are now one eyed extreme provincialist Shark fans, for saying the Stomps should be on the bench because they're not as good.

In that case, it's good being one eyed.

I am not going to bother showing AGAIN how average he was...the info is out there. Not a single person here has complimented Mostert while he was outstanding. It's just propoganda and hype.

PSDT needs a rest, he had a good game, although he was not quite as good as usual when he is everywhere.
Mostert was great, huge workrate. As always.
Beast was good as well and should be our starting loosehead. Kitshoff is at his best when he plays from the bench, as yesterday.

It's been a while since I've seen a Bok pack dominate a team like that at scrum time, especially ARG who generally pride themselves on that part of the game. Trevor needs to get the credit here, supported well by Bongi and Beast. The Beast hype is a bit much though, we saw the change because Malherbe was dropped for Trevor. Marx also needs a wake-up call and Bongi provided that. Good position to be in with our current FR stocks. Beast and Ginger at LH, Bongi and Marx at 2 and then Trevor with a massive performance at TH. Hopefully Rassie tries another TH off the bench in the next game to see who can support Trevor better than Malherbe, who's been very average.

Locks were both very good. Mostert had one of his better games, he was all over the field. Eben played well again as well but as has mentioned, needs to cut the jumping into tackles out. Run hard and drop the shoulder you plum. Of course I won't call him a plum to his face though.

Loosies did ok. PSDT the best of the three. Duane was industrious and Kwagga didn't have the impact I'd have hoped. Coetzee should have played.

Faf was horrendous. He and Willie were the worst backs but Faf by far. Midfield did better than before, still nothing more than okayish though and still the major problem in the backline imo. No time to fix it though so we'll just hope it is solid and everyone else steps up. DDA had a better game though. Frans should be the 12 with Serfontein at 13.

Pollard was very good, one of his best tests. Mapimpi got stronger as the game went on, had one very good run that resulted in a try. Kolbe had another good game.

Overall, very happy with the direction Rassie is going. There are very few positions we can argue about these days, at least those of us without an agenda anyway. I think it was Blake who said shortly after the game, "wow, we made hard work of that" - well, given our recent form there, if beating ARG by 40 IN Argentina is "making hard work of it" then I'll take that kind of hard work any day.

Will be interesting to see what his selections look like in the friendly next week. We need to find out who our backup 8 is so I'd like to see some shuffling in the backrow. If Rassie sees Coetzee or the backup then him, Kwagga and Flo maybe. Duane and PSDT need a break.

Hopefully Gelant gets a go at 15 and Frans at 12.

They just flat out aren’t good there any more. Any Arg poster will tell you that. Ledesma is trying to halt the decline but it has been years in the making. They looked to Figallo as a savior but he had one start for his club all season.

And we just haven't flat-out done that to a scrum in years. I'll take it.

Not my stats.....the only way it could be misleading if it was not true....but carry on anyway.

I believe he has been very average the last two matches ... Kwagga and Mostert and Trevor completely outplayed him....

In fact..... .....Trevor .... wtf........him and Mostert were beasts...........

Itoje concedes the most penalties for England, he is one of their best players. Sometimes conceding a penalty is necessary.

Tackle success % is more useful than a total.

The case remain that PSDT is one of our most important players, and almost everyone agrees to this.
