Last few posts sounded like you were in a very dodgy part of the world. Even from your perspective.

Any posters know him well enough to verify he’s ok?

He was on assignment in October-November, or thereabouts, with very poor access to outside comms. Could well still be involved with that.

I was going to create this thread as well, I'm off to Iraq in about a week and wanted to get some tips if he was willing to share. Maybe even a tentative cabal.

Slightly concerning perhaps, but I am confident that NZ is so small, and Turbogoat such a big swinging dick, that we would read about his untimely demise on Stuff or the NZ Hurled.

Pay is in US $, and with the Rand/Dollar exchange its not bad at all. I'll be going over on my own - single male living costs, which is comparable to here - so I think the pay is pretty decent.

I'm going there to work though, not mess-around, and I'm confident my expenses will be fairly limited.
