Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
The Celtic league unions have to take some of the blame here for failing to introduce measures like true qualification based on league placings - it would have massively benefitted the league too.

I can see little option but to join this Anglo-French abortion tbh . We'll be completely cut off at the knees financially if we don't. We have the option of dying with dignity rather than starving to death while begging from scraps from the English and French. Exactly. Joining the bullies on those ...

Why did Avon or Stringer Bell keep going in The Wire when they had the cash to get out? Why did Tony Soprano keep going? Stfu Duff. Well no actually - at least not on the basis of those two examples. Class episode. Utterly ridiculous at points but they've enough goodwill in the bag to pull it off. Not sure how they're going to end it here - hints of Walt trying to redeem himself there at one point, only to revert by the end - or did he? There is nothing irrational about his position.
Part of the population are being asked to pay extra for something that before came from general taxation. There is no tangible benefit for the consumer in this - improved infrastructure dont hold your breath.

Haven't seen tonight's episode but this show is really running out of road for me. Shame to see but the signs were there in the first half of season 5. Getting pretty ridiculous at this stage, and cementing it's position firmly in the second tier of all time great box sets.
