Re: OFFICIAL Brexit Thread
I know there was quite a lot of writing in there to wade through - but I didn't contradict myself. I said Ireland never actively sought to remove itself from a common trade area with the UK, which is true. The fact that there was a tariff war in the 30s was due to other reasons which I won't expand ...

I think it would be useful to have clarification on why the Irishers are so angry about Brexit. IRELAND - why are you so angry about Brexit? Thanks. The boom in importing second hand cars to Ireland from the UK is only a relatively recent phenomenon - driven by weaker sterling since 2016 but also the fact that hardly any new cars were sold in Ireland during the 2009 to 2013 slump. This meant there was a significant shortage of Irish second hand ...

Nothing to do with tax . The point is the most profitable part of the chain in Camroc insurance is the policy creation and underwriting, which is most likely something that still occurs in London. The sale being made in the EU by the EU branch is passing on the policy not writing a new one. I'm not...

Yep, Most likely still underwritten at Lloyd’s though. Dublin is a transferred cost , profit still UK. And as you’ve pointed out this has already happened, nothing to bargain over there. I believe it's the 1 year anniversary of Jonah Lomu's passing tomorrow. I remember Ireland going 20 pts up against the AB's in the old Lansdowne Road in the early 2000's and the AB's and in particular Lomu putting Ireland to the sword in the 2nd half, eventually winning by about 20 pts. http://c2.t...

From what I have read they haven't done enough to work with their clubs within each region. That's crucial considering those clubs feed in to them. It's very difficult to convince disillusioned club supporters to attend matches. Just look at the Waratahs for instance. They are the anti-Leinster and...

Does anyone actually understand that statement by the way? I think I understand the fact that French teams have backed down to the Union, but does it say/imply anything else? It's very vague. I understand the argument about it being 6 nations involved, but the Clubs believe, with considerable justification, that it is a club tournament, not a national/union one. But again, that is telling other countries how they should organise rugby in their country and that is none of their business....
