I can see a tight first half as combos work in and the franchise play with "pashun". 2nd half we need to treat them like the rainbow warrior and blow them out of the water!

Re: The Welcome to Country - what's going on?

One look at the pretty miserable west coast of NZ compared to the relatively nice east coast might have put Polynesians off from going further west. For example, there is no major city on the west coast of NZ except New Plymouth. Even Auckland is built facing the east. That's cos the naki is a big ...

The 23 is, broadly, a good representation of the relative quality of the Super sides this season. Re: Should France be sanctioned by World Rugby and sued by NZ Rugby?

Agreed, but it's a necessary compromise. I'm pretty comfortable that over the course of a 25-game regular season where you play 12 of 13 teams twice, you'd still sort the wheat from the chaff and ultimately get a deserving winner. drop the number of teams and keep the integrity of the comp. have a ...

Re: Should France be sanctioned by World Rugby and sued by NZ Rugby?

Why? You just have to play one fewer regular season game. You don’t have to get all dramatic and cut two teams. It is not essential that every team plays every other team twice. A double round robin is not the only possible formula. This is already how Super and the URC operate. Going forward, cut ...

I responded to your NFL comment. I agree they could cut one game - the semi-final qualifier. Beyond that, it means reducing the Top14 to a Top 12 (not sure a Top13 formula would be welcome with a team having a bye each weekend). They've discussed this in the past, but smaller clubs have pushed back...
