Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Nobody wants the national team made up of lads from just one province, but surely the best way forward is to get the other 3 provinces producing more, better players. St Michael’s having a bit more cash can’t be the only difference between Leinster and the other 3; it certainly doesn’t explain why ...

Re: Leinster vs Munster
Today, Archer will become Munsters most capped player. How the hell did that happen. He’s a Con boy, that’s how. Been mentioned by several people but John Ryan being told to feck off with Archer getting contract on top of contract is one of many decisions in Munster that reeks from last few years. ...

Re: RWCR3 Ireland vs Springboks
What a game. Some parts the quality was lacking but both sides threw everything at it and it was epic as a result. We got a bit lucky tbh. Boks aren’t going to win RWC with Libbok at 10. And Faf not nailing kicks either tonight meant we got out of jail. But what a game. Physicality of the charts. Fe...

This feels like a World Cup final. Serious tension.
If we can keep lineout steady I think we should win now.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
I'm happy with that 23 anyway.
Indo well off, not for first time!
Great to see Sheehan, Bealham fit and named. Along with Henderson/Baird and Henshaw that's good strength to come in.
Bomb squad my hole I say!

Re: Simon Zebo, conspiracy theorist
This is why I can't take any media coverage with Zebo seriously. It's a well known fact in Cork at least, that he's an absolute idiot. Doesn't surprise me in the slightest he's on the Covid/9-11/Bill Gates/illuminati train. He's exactly the type to be on board with that. And as for blaming his kids...

If that indo team is accurate, no VDf and POM at 7..Jeez, I dunno. It's a bit of a gamble. Is McCarthy really at that level yet? We'll see I guess. Hope Sheehan is in the 23 anyway. Could really do with Conan aswell. Delighted if he goes with Crowley on the bench, progressive rather than conservati...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Fine with the selection, but just a worry that Sheehan isn't there obviously.
Hopefully Henshaw gets a good run. And Henderson, who could be needed.
Also would prefer Crowley on bench but understand they want to give Byrne a run.

Squad along expected lines apart from that. 18-15 split gets McCloskey in probably.

Re: Ofishal Ire v Samoa, watch behind the sofa, thread
Tough game in awful conditions. Lot of errors but still some better stuff in second half. Samoa were really up for that tonight and put a lot into it. No excuses though we made a lot of errors. Injuries and lack of good form from a few squad players a worry. Herring a notable exception in fairness. ...

Nice from Murray and Stockdale. Herring should have a steadying effect hopefully. Stewart a year or 2 too early.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Just my own 2 cents. I can see a little, why Ulster fans would be a bit unhappy with Earls getting picked ahead of Stockdale. If Stockdale hadn’t been injured so much and ironed out a few defensive issues then safe to say it wouldn’t have even been a discussion. Earl gave a fair enough assessment of...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Do we think Keet will get to 100 Irish caps? I know Farrell likes him, and values the sentimental side of the squad stuff, but I genuinely think he'd be a wasted squad position at this stage, and I don't think Farrell will let sentimentality compromise his decision making. Keets's a fantastic perso...

Re: URC Final: Stormers vs Munster in Slaapstad
What a win. No way you could have said a few months ago Munster would beat Stormers, Glasgow, Leinster and Stormers away again in run in to winning a title. It's a massive achievement by the coaching staff and players. Must watch the game back, they were all heroic, but Hodnett, Nash (how far are bo...

Re: Leinster vs Munster, May 13th, 5.30pm
Delighted with the win. Players emotions at the end showed what it means. Could be the catalyst for some players (maybe the whole squad?) to push on. I thought it was gone, Leinster were mullering us in scrum in last quarter and we were lucky with one scrum at least not to concede a penalty..BUT to ...

Great win, huge defensive effort in particular so you have to be glass half full...but next week will be no fun you'd think really. The injuries just leave us down too much quality to compete.

Henshaw, Herring, Conan crucial to the win off bench. Murray aside from one dodgy pass aswell.

Sale scrum being obliterated.
La R not at full throttle but still a bit better. If their handling was a bit better and West improved his kicking they would be tough to beat.

I’m assuming that Sale are making them look worse than they really are but this LR team look a very pale imitation of the great Clermont sides of yesteryear... the yellow kit doesn’t help. Cagey-ish but enjoyable game. Great try by Sale there to really make second half interesting.
McGinty off form a bit and that could be costly if it continues.
